It makes no sense to me why a player so sought after would be at a school like Lindon. We’re not Division I. Some of them make a future for themselves in the pros after their second chance, and others fizzle out. Now for the male main character, Aiden, he’s a star football player and really is the main driver of this being a sports romance rather than a contemporary romance or new adult. idk how to word it but she’s like the type of character that goes through so much that you kinda have to like her??? yeah well i didnt. The gorgeous new covers for these books grabbed my attention, as did the premise. As someone who has discovered a newfound interest in football, I’m excited to dive into this series and put my knowledge to the test.

We never had to worry about Danny (DJ) and his true intentions with Skylar which made the “friends with benefits” trope acceptable in my eyes. Typically this trope leaves me questioning what is real and what isn’t but that wasn’t an issue here. All in all, I would've appreciated more lightheartedmess in this. Because there was a point in this book where I wondered whether this couple could ever made it in the end. Everything was super gloomy and dark for them. I would've shipped her with DJ more if Aiden was not in the picture. That's how emotionless I think about their relationship altogether.Been absorbed in some heavy hitting books this month and needed a little break. That always come with a trip to Kindle Unlimited to find a sports-related college romance. Can't say this one could be defined as refreshing or much lighter than the heavy hitters I've been reading. Wow! The angst and sad story was heartbreaking. But the star football player was a much-needed relief. A caring and sharing kinda guy who isn't full of himself. Just the kind of hero our poor heroine needed. But I’d endure. I have nowhere else to go in this godforsaken town thanks to my spontaneous decision to get my life together, and I have no room to judge what Sydney is currently doing in the confines of her bedroom. i cannot stress enough how amazing this was. i could not put it down! childhood friends (to enemies ish) to lovers is one of my all time favorite tropes and this was done absolutely perfectly. Skylar is the youngest of 4 sisters, having moved to Linden U from California to discover herself away from her bubbly rich family. She suffers from social anxiety, she is shy and introverted and has a hard time making friends. If you're a fan of angsty, raw, and real stories that just isn't only filled with good romance but also about life and the strength of family, this might be for you. Ivy and Aiden. Best childhood friends. Ivy grew up in an unloving home, parents fighting a lot. Until she could not face it anymore and ran away. Trading her body for a place to stay, hurting herself. Until she gets it together and goes to Lindon University where she meets Aiden again. Rising football star.The book starts with Skylar succumbing to peer pressure and going to a party, drinking too much and waking up the next day in someone's bed and not remembering anything but it's obvious she lost her virginity. The party was at the fooball team's house so DJ and Aiden (from the first book) witness her walk of shame.

Our hero had me melting and swooning like there was no tomorrow, he was perfection. A breath of fresh air. These two just made sense together. He was her pillar of strength even when she didn't need it, she was his strength to keep him fighting for what he wanted. Even as a young chid he always tried to protect Ivy and made sure she had somewhere to go when things were tough at home. To see that carry through as an adult was so good to see. i think he’s a pretty basic male main character. theres nothing amazin about him and theres nothing particularly bad about him either. he’s kinda just… bland. I definitely recommend this book if you're looking for a friends to lovers, YA romance with a little bit of darkness.

As with all of B. Celeste's books, this book didn't disappoint. It was funnier and more entertaining than other books I read by this author, but still managed to delivered a great emotional punch.
