Description

The heat distribution makes finished resin prints easier to remove without affecting surface finish when scraping them, as well as improving adhesion to the build plate. This reduces errors – we all know the frustration of having a resin model adhere to the resin rather than the build plate causing it to fail. The Anycubic Photon Mono 4K features a powerful 15 LED light matric with over 90% light uniformity, as well as a high contrast monochrome grid that enhances accuracy, able to more sensitively cure resin for smooth yet sharp surface finishes. The solid z-axis rail structure is hugely important for a precise and accurate final print, with a stable stepper motor able to handle the precisions required in such small layer heights and fine resolutions. Printed on the 2K LCD Elegoo Mars 2 Pro. 4K is better quality, but you can still get good results with less. The bottom layer count is simply the number of first layers that you will expose UV light on for the set bottom exposure time. These layers ensure strong adhesion to the build plate and help in building a successful 3D model. Anywhere from 15 seconds up to 150 seconds is the full range, though you’ll usually see people with bottom exposure times from 30 seconds to 90 or 100 seconds. Best Bottom Layer Counts for Resin 3D Printing

The Elegoo Mars comes in at around 30-50mm/hr, with 1.5-3 second layer cure times. The Anycubic Photon Mono 4K is around 50mm/hr also, able to cure around 12cm-tall models in 2.5 hours, with 1.5 second layer times. These are genuine lifesavers for novices printing for the first time. But, they leave a bit to be desired in terms of advanced features and overall interface. Anycubic Photon Workshop, the resin slicer used by Anycubic Photon 3D printers. For beginners, using that print orientation usually brings about higher success, especially when done in a way to reduce the need of many supports. If you have long unsupported parts on a model, rotating the model correctly is useful. Both offer fantastic resolution for the price – they’re both the best-quality resin MSLA printers for the price, in our opinion.

With the ongoing developments in afforable desktop resin 3D-printers, Anycubic has launched another new product in 2023. Names the Anycubic Photon Mono 2, it seems like this is an upgrade from the original Photon Mono. But as they are releasing so many new and similar printers, it is difficult to see how the Anycubic Photon Mono 2 fits into its product offering. Some information can already be found online. The new version of the slicer has been completed and optimised with some improved and updated features. Not only is the new user interface much easier to use - the slicing process has also been made a whole lot easier. Overall, the Elegoo Mars 3 has a slightly larger build area, so if you want to produce more minis at once, you may prefer it. You want to avoid having a light-off delay too low because it is known to reduce the overall lifetime of your LCD due to overheating. Lifting distance is simply how far the build plate raises up from the FEP film after each layer is cured.Your Z-lift height should be high enough that it gives your models clearance to adequately create a raft and supports underneath, without being too far that your supports are really tall. In some cases, you can even hear the suction from the FEP film with every lift. You want to have a fairly low lifting speed to be on the safe side. Many resin 3D prints have failed due to a fast lifting speed, which is not worth the reduction in printing times. However, Anycubic has also developed its Anycubic Photon Workshop software, offering hassle-free out-of-the-box printing thanks to fine-tuned settings. AmeraLabs actually did some great testing with light-off delay and showed that having 0 light-off delay resulted in a really grainy and low quality surface finish. Values below 1 second can contribute to lower quality, so you want to use 1 second at minimum. Best Lifting Distance Setting
