The picture below shows the inner tent. It is pre-attached, so this is a dry setup construction with the inner protected even if you have to pitch the tent when it is raining. The sleeping area. One of the side doors is with a dry-entry design that includes a built-in rain-hood supported by an inflatable brow to prevent rain getting inside the entrance. This is quite a unique detail, see below how it looks. Side brim supported by an air beam. There are 2 doors – one on the side that has a generous rain porch, and one on the end. Both feature generous flaps over the zips to keep the rain out.

Add more space to your Berghaus Air Tent with the Air Tent Porch Space. Featuring the same innovative inflation system as the tent, the porch space uses air beams to construct a stable extension for your home on the hill. HH fly sheet - withstands the most intense weather conditions. The tent and groundsheet seams are all fully taped. All the material used is fire retardent and tested to meet the EN 5912 European safety standard. The living room is fully sealed and protected, so if necessary it can accommodate 4 people more. So this tent is a true camping castle. This Berghaus Air 4XL is a large, tall, and luxurious family camping tent with 5 + 1 inflatable beams instead of classic poles. This makes it very easy to use and one person can easily set it up with its included manual pump. The peak height is impressive 84.6 inches (215 cm). The central air beam has a lantern hanging point with neat little velcro loops for attaching a cable to. You could also run fairy lights through the loops. At the bottom of this beam there is a zipped hole to receive an electric cable from outside. This keeps everything neat and provides great illumination at night. The outer tent is made from a blue 70 denier fabric with a a 6000mm Hydrostatic head rating and all seams are taped. This is not a flimsy toy tent. It’s extremely waterproof and strong. I struggled with my old school thinking and imagined an air tent would be all floppy and pretty useless in a wind. The shell floor is fully sewn-in bathtub style, with fully taped seams. The inner tent has yet another bathtub type floor, so two layers are in the sleeping area. They claim that the materials are fully fire-retardant and tested to the European EN 5912 safety standard. Ventilation

Pump up each beam until the pressure gauge on the pump is in the green. The supplied pump is awesome and makes this really fast and easy. It takes approx 12 pumps for a beam to inflate – less than 1 minute for each. The tent is nicely ventilated. There is a large vent on the rear side, one high vent is under the porch, and two high vents are above the side windows. There is one low vent on the side behind the sleeping area. All of them are visible in the pictures. The main living area is large with space for 2 chairs and a table. We favour putting a chair on each corner by the inner tent and having a table in the middle. Great for relaxing, cooking or eating. This is a top quality inflatable tent. The Berghaus Air 400XL uses high quality TPU airbeams that are really strong. Waterproofing is to a high standard - the tent fabric is tested to a hydrostatic head of 6000 mm. There is also a carpet for the main living area. A good addition that protects the floor and makes it warmer in the winter. The down-sides Weight – 19Kg The Air 400XL Nightfall Tent is the latest version of this iconic Berghaus tent and replaces the Air 4.1 that came before with an enhanced construction and a stylish new look. Regarding seasons & climate, I have no doubt that this tent can be used in all seasons. It is enclosed with its solid windows and zippered doors panels, so this is great for a cooler environment. It is also nicely ventilated for a warm weather camping. There are luminous guy-lines which saves the embarrassing trips in the night. Dimensions Standard version – 3 air beams

There are 3 doors in the living room, two on the sides and one under the porch shown in the picture above. All three are double-layer type with a full size zippered mesh and a zippered panel.A symbol of British outdoor adventure, Berghaus was founded in the North-East of England in 1966 and is renowned for creating pioneering outdoor gear for campers, hikers and climbers. Its range of air tents revolutionised the camping world and the brand continues to innovate by harnessing new technologies and materials. The brand lives by the philosophy that the best of life is lived outdoors and that absolutely nothing should stop you from being there.

This is where an air tent shines. A peg in each corner and out with the pump. A few pumps and not much effort later all the “beams” are inflated. It’s then just a matter of pegging out the guylines. Easily less than 10 minutes. Dropping your tent is a simple matter of releasing the air valves and it just collapses. No poles to unthread from their sleeves. Wind resistance and stability

Refine

Like the main living area, there is a single hanging point for a lantern. Putting it up and taking it down Relative to their poled cousins, an air tent is generally heavier. Not really an issue unless you have a long way to carry it. This is alleviated by the wheeled bag that the tent comes with. Size This is the real strength of an inflatable tent and the Berghaus Air 4 is no slouch in this department. It’s simple and fast… Going up… Zip electric hook-up access point - on both sides of tent with Velcro tidies to run the cable to a lantern point There is an extension porch which adds a huge 8.5 m2 extra space outside the side door. It comes with its own groundsheet and pegs. Expensive but worth considering if extra space is important. Bear in mind that you could buy a small tent for the same money.
