This can happen with some types of AD. Does Dhiren lift one leg as he passes over the change in flooring or indeed does he lower one leg. Bernie Thompson joined the Civil Service in 1998. She is a Deputy Director in MHCLG, responsible for Inclusion, Wellbeing and Employee Engagement and co-chairs the cross-government network, Race to the Top G6/7 The Gender Pay Gap regulations require BEIS to include its 5 Executive Agencies in the published figures as they are not separate legal entities. The data published on GOV.UK therefore includes: Mentoring is a relationship between two people with the goal of professional and personal development. The 'mentor' is usually an experienced individual who shares knowledge, experience, and advice with a less experienced person, or 'mentee' – Mindtools.com Bernie Thompson

This report sets out the data for BEIS, alongside what we are doing to reduce our gender pay gap going forward. Introduction

These regulations underpin the Public Sector Equality Duty and require relevant organisations to publish their gender pay gap by 30 March each year. This includes the mean and median gender pay gaps; the mean and median gender bonus gaps; the proportion of men and women who received bonuses; and the proportions of men and women employees in each pay quartile. In Crossing Thresholds, the authors weave together a colorful tapestry of liminality’s varied histories, theories, and practical applications to spiritual life and leadership, inspiring new imaginings for the church and beyond. Anyone yearning for frameworks that deepen and challenge what it means to engage faithfully the ‘betwixt and between’ will discover in this book a provocative, praxis-oriented companion. Drawing on connections with diverse disciplines and thinkers, the co-authors helpfully explore the dynamics of liminal space and movement. With practical insight and curiosity they share their wisdom for churches and those who lead. Holding a pluralistic vision about the significance of liminality, readers are invited into an ever-expanding sense of a God at work in the world.

What is catatonia?

For 2021/22, the Gender Pay Gap figures were published for the third time, in the Annual Civil Service Employment Survey ( ACSES) on 27 July 2022, to provide an overall picture across government. The reporting period is 1st April 2021 to 31st March 2022. As part of our Diversity & Inclusion Strategy, we want to ensure that all our policies, processes and decisions are as inclusive as possible. We want to be diverse in our identity and thought and ensure that everyone feels valued and supported.

Sheida's journey into becoming a Thresholds facilitator began during her own participation on the Crossing Thresholds programme. Given her passion for developing herself and others, Sheida was instantly attracted to the prospect of being able to pass on the amazing lessons learned throughout the programme. Sheida has worked across the Civil Service in several countries for the past decade, and has benefited from the opportunity of working in diverse environments and appreciate the importance of fostering opportunities for women from all walks of life. As demonstrated by the table below, the pay gap seems to be driven by an uneven distribution of gender by grade. There is a higher proportion of more men in senior grades as well as a higher proportion of women in lower grades. The changes in workforce composition over the last year is therefore a likely driver of the change. Catatonia is a rare condition. It doesnot just affect autistic people, in fact the relationship between autism and catatonia is still little understood or recognised. This year’s survey will seek to understand whether BEIS’ learning and development workstream has provided direct benefit to members of the network when seeking progression in the Civil Service. They also plan to undertake a survey to understand the experiences of parental leave in BEIS. The results will be analysed by gender to gain some insight of any barriers experienced by employees due to parental leave and parenthood that could impact the department Learning and development For example, I recently joined the Crossing Thresholds course, and Bernie encouraged me actively to promote it to colleagues and share new insights. At times, she has questioned my negative assumptions, low confidence and helped pave the way by coaching me for a new career challenge.

Implementation of ‘name-anonymised’ recruitment. This supports diversity in the workforce by helping to create a more level playing field in the assessment process. There is a recent paper (De Jong, Bunton and Hare, 2014) which has reported a systematic review of the literature on all interventions used to treat catatonic symptoms in autistic people. The conclusions are that the quality of the studies is poor and there is no convincing evidence that any particular medication or ECT is effective for catatonia type breakdown. The studies also worryingly ignored the side-effects of these treatments and rarely reported long term follow-up of effects. Due to the public sector pay pause for the financial year 2021/2022, there was no pay award in 2021 to the majority of DWP employees, with only some individuals at AA and AO receiving an uplift. This means that it is primarily changes to grade distribution that has been the most significant contributor to the difference in average salaries across genders and the slight increase in our mean GPG. Female representation within each grade

For core BEIS (excluding Executive Agencies) the headline 2021 GPG figures show a mean gap of 4.5%, and a median gender gap of 11%. This is a narrowing in both metrics compared to 2020 (mean 5.9% and median 13.5%). For core BEIS, so excluding Executive Agencies, the headline 2021 Gender Pay Gap figures show a mean gender pay gap of 4.5%, and the median gender pay gap of 11.0%. Gender Pay Gap There are no medicationsspecifically for catatonia.Whensymptoms aresevere, psychiatricmedicationsuch as anti-anxiety medicationmay be prescribed. Historically the main factor contributing to the pay gap in BEIS has been an imbalance in the distribution of men and women by grade – with men disproportionally represented in roles at higher grades and women disproportionally filling roles at more junior levels. This remains the case in 2021. This report fulfils the department’s reporting requirements, analyses the figures in more detail and sets out what we are doing to close the gender pay gap in the organisation. 2021 headline figures

The Department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy ( BEIS) has prepared this report as part of the legal requirement for public authorities to publish their gender pay gap on an annual basis. Scrapping my plan. I started my Crossing Thresholds journey off with a plan, it didn’t last long, the modules themselves made me really think about what I wanted from my career, question whether I was where I wanted to be, and how I balance what I want at work with life outside.
