Description

Krytox™ lubricants can be used in applications where nonflammability, oxygen compatibility, materials compatibility, high-temperature stability, and resistance to aggressive chemicals are requirements. Industries include: I suppose it depends, but generally silicone grease/oil is very stable long term isn't it? Which is kind of the whole point of having silicone in it? Krytox™ fluorinated oils are a series of low molecular weight, fluorine end-capped, homopolymers of hexafluoropropylene epoxide. The polymer chain is completely saturated and contains only carbon, oxygen, and fluorine; hydrogen is not present. Krytox™ Performance Lubricants Applications I heard about very popular one called Krytox. The most talked about are Krytox GPL 205g0, GPL 205g2 and GPL 105g0. So what do these grades mean and which one is the best for linears? What are your recommendations?

When lubing many switches at a time, you might want to gather all your springs and a pea size dollop of Krytox 205 grade 0 in a container or an inflated baggy. Then shake real good for a couple minutes--it's called bag-lubing and will evenly coat your springs with Krytox 205 grade 0. And after using side by side I think Tribosys is marginally better than Krytox. 3204 would be the 204 equivalent if you get Tribosys Independently tested and confirmed for LOX and GOX use by major oxygen manufacturers and test authorities, including BAM.Not consistent, sluggish and will probably gum up after a while. You get more variety with Krytox as well

This lube comes in a container which can hold upto 20 grams of lube so the container may not look full. Bag lubing is another way of applying the lubricant but one that I only use for the springs. The idea is that you throw whatever you want to lubricate into a bag, make sure it has some air to allow free movement of the parts, and then shake it until the lubricant is evenly dispersed. Practice makes perfect, so don't be too harsh on yourself if you don't manage to have evenly lubed switches (or keyboard stabilizers) on your first attempt. And so you know, over time and use, Krytox 205 grade 0, and lubricants in general, will distribute itself where it needs to go inside the switch. Although chemically stable and non-hazardous, wear gloves and place a protective layer on your working surface. Spills are difficult to clean, and the lubricant will transfer from an operators hands to any surface they may touch.Switch lubricating can sound scary but in reality is quite simple and makes a huge difference in both feel and sound! The reason, I think, that we’ve adopted some specialized lubricants is due to how precise and small scale these switches are. A small change can make a big impact on the switch properties so we need lubricants that are precise and well measured. The Krytox brand, having a wide range of easily discernable viscosities has become quite popular and therefore used by quite a few in our community. It has so far stood the test of time compared to other brands and so is often recommended. The Krytox 205G0 grease lubricant is the perfect consistency and base oil viscosity for keyboard enthusiasts. It's made for Topre and linear switches but will function superbly with any tactile switch of your choosing.

DuPont only manufactures Krytox in China, and has not manufactured any Krytox products in the United States in decades. I cannot say if it is the same [as Miller-Stephenson] or not, but I can say if it is crossing markets it is definitely gray market, which is generally not allowed, or very very old. In Short - The Class60 is a Leaf-spring/Top dual mounting 60% Keyboard, we kept the beloved Buzzer & Solenoid feature from the previous board the Class80 and on top also added the support for QMK&VIAL compatible capacitive PCB (we use the “T” word) and an optional wrist rest to enlarge the chin of the keyboard.No. Krytox™ oils and greases do not contain any silicones, and no silicone is used in the manufacturing process.

The thing to remember is that evenness is the name of the game when lubricating your switches with 205 grade 0. It's always easier to add lube than to remove lube, so don't hesitate to experiment with different amounts of 205g0 on a few of your switches to find out what you like best. Once you've found out, rinse and repeat, consistently. Tips on Using Krytox 205 Grade 0 effectively

If you have any other suggestions for how to lube switches I’d love to hear them. The brushing process is pretty time consuming so if there’s another way to do it without sacrificing accuracy I’m all ears! Alright, I’m sold, but where do I buy these lubricants? Most of these lubricants are pretty specialized. They were not designed for the keyboard community but we’ve adapted them to our needs. This means they are generally harder to find than your run of the mill Superlube or other household lubricants. This is slowly changing however, with more shops starting to sell moderately portioned lubricants in varying viscosities and even some specialized blends created within our community that are performing quite well!
