Description

Since incorporating this cream into my routine, I've noticed a significant improvement in my skin's overall texture and appearance. It has been especially effective in soothing dry patches and calming any irritation, all while keeping my skin's barrier intact. Pyunkang Yul's minimalist approach to skincare shines through in this cream, focusing on quality ingredients that deliver remarkable results. The Intensive Repair Cream provides the essential hydration and skin-repairing benefits my skin craves, ensuring that my skin's protective barrier stays strong and resilient. For the same reasons they are popularly used, they are also commonly avoided. Anecdotally, many individuals have reported that Silicones cause/excerbate breakouts, irritation, cause a feeling of skin being unable to breathe, cause clumping of cosmetic products and find it difficult to wash off. As a result, those who find them problematic are avoiding them and increasingly, cosmetic companies are avoiding them as well. If not, don't worry about it - they do have had one of the longest safety records as preservatives!

The Pyunkang yul repair cream does not pill under concealer or foundation. Pilling is a major pet peeve of mine so I am always very critical of how creams perform as a makeup base.

SHOPPING INFO

I’ve noticed that creams like the Farmacy beauty honey halo cream and this Pyunkang Yul cream that have ceramides in the formula do not look as glowy on the skin. They have more of what I would describe as a radiant matte finish. I wouldn’t say this bothers me, but I do like to have a glowy base under foundation to avoid cakey or dry looking makeup. When using a ceramide cream like this one, I like to use a hydrating or glowy makeup primer like the Laura Mercier hydrating primer to get the sheer glow finish I desire for my foundation.

This cream has become an exceptional gem in my skincare collection, and I'm particularly impressed by how it nourishes and strengthens the skin barrier. There has been some healthy controversy surrounding them due to a few studies finding paraben presence in breast tumours and breast tissue. However, the majority of the scientific community have deemed these findings non-conclusive due to the limitations of these studies. If you are concerned about the health safety of parabens, then feel free to avoid them by looking out for the Paraben-Free icon.
