If the light blinks green and your thermostat is unresponsive for more than 15 minutes, it may have frozen during the update. If you findwires in your thermostat’s connector that have non-standard labels (for instance 1,2,3, or A, B, C), your system is proprietary. Note: If your system can’t provide enough consistent power to your Nest thermostat, you may need to connect a C wire or the Nest Power Connector to fix power-related issues. If there’s a C wire connected to your system’s control board, you can put it in the thermostat’s C connector to checkif that helps. In some cases, the app will let you proceed with wiring your Nest thermostat even if you have one or more of the wires listed below.

Heat pump systems sometimes have auxiliary heat to help heat your home more quickly or to help heat your home when it’s too cold outside for your heat pump to run.
