Für Gänsehaut sorgt auch das zweite zentrale Thema um Krato’s Frau, bzw. Atreu’s Mutter Faye, „Memories of Mother“. Dies ist für mich persönlich das Highlight des Albums, bzw. des gesamten Scores. Eine wunderschöne und tieftraurige Melodie, getragen von Eivør Pálsdóttir’s fantastischer Gesangsstimme. Dies ist aus meiner Sicht auch das eigentliche Hauptthema des Spiels. Es ist, wie die Mission des ungleichen Vater -und Sohn-Duos, der (emotionale) Angelpunkt des Scores (siehe auch „Ashes“). Absolut genial. Aiming at an enemy and pressing the square button will cause Atreus to shoot arrows for your —an invaluable tactic later in the game when the bow is powered up with numerous magical abilities.

Von den OST-Alben besitze ich aber tatsächlich das Album zum dritten GoW (welcher von mehreren Leuten komponiert wurde). Wenn man diesen mit Bear McCreary’s Musik vergleicht fällt auf das McCreary’s Musik wesentlich emotionaler und reifer ist und, wie oben erwähnt, viele ruhigere Momente hat, während der GoW3-Score roh, brutal und durch und durch wütenden Bombast bietet. Natürlich ist dieser Wandel in der Musik der vielschichtigen Vater/Sohn-Story des vierten Teils geschuldet. Und McCreary hat, so passioniert wie er eben ist, hier wieder ein durch und durch magisches Hörerlebnis geschaffen. This puts the Spartan on the defensive —a position he doesn't usually find himself in. All of Kratos' previous adventures placed him in the role of aggressor, seeking vengeance for the wrongs that had been committed against him, but now his only concerns are carrying out his late wife's dying wish and protecting his son.

Yggdrasil Cloth Map – This cloth map shows each of the Nine Realms within the branches and roots of Yggdrasil.Though it was once hate and anger that fueled Kratos' desire to fight, he now fights out of love, which is a huge departure in tone for the series — and ultimately transforms it into something more powerful, poignant and unforgettable. The one you choose will obviously come down to your personal preference. Camera movement is much, much smoother in performance mode, though the drop in visual detail is noticeable —especially in game, where the level of detail seen at 4K is so high.
