Yes, most beer is vegan! If you’re following a vegan diet and want to enjoy a refreshing pint, you’ll be able to do so as the base ingredients of beer include water, barley, and yeast - none of which derive from animal products. However, some less-common beers, such as cask ales, may contain ingredients such as honey, Isinglass, or milk. Probably your best choice if you are on a budget, this is normally the cheapest low carb beer in our lineup. This is a great, summery lager with similar taste and feel to a Corona. It’s a solid replacement with much lower carbs and calories, coming it at only 3g carbs and 89 calories per bottle. Pretty new in the UK but over the past couple of months seems to be available everywhere, from chain and independent pubs as well as most supermarkets. The taste is like a lighter Budweiser (obviously) – very malty and rice-like.

Here at DrinkWell, we specialise in providing a range of tasty and refreshing beers that can be enjoyed whilst being calorie conscious. The lowest calorie beer available from us is the Tennents Light Lager, which offers refreshing, malty notes whilst remaining vegan-friendly and gluten-free. Wanna try them all? Why not explore our low calorie beer cases? Diet beer is not all doom and gloom! In recognition of the ever-growing demand for lower calorie and lower carb alcoholic drinks, forward-thinking and pioneering breweries from across the world have been working hard to bring lower-carb beers to the market. DrinkWell has a range of reduced-calorie beers and lagers sourced from some of the best-emerging brewers on the market. We have made it our mission to find our customers the best lower calorie and lower carb beers that the world has to offer. Who says diets have to be restrictive?! Generally, drinks with a higher carbohydrate content will have a higher number of calories. Because of this, beer contains more calories than wine. This means that spirits and wines are less likely to contribute to weight gain unless of course, you opt for a low calorie beer from DrinkWell. You may need to drink a few if you want to get a buzz and ignore those who prefer a glass of 14% Haters Imperial Stout who tell you you’re not a real beer drinker, not a real man, how do you drink that watery crap? Skinny Lager is gluten removed to a value of <10ppm (lower than the 20ppm threshold). We do this by exposing the beer to filtering enzymes during fermentation which remove the gluten at the end of the brewing process. Skinny Lager is ‘Coeliac Society Certified Gluten Free’. This means that we meet the strict range of criteria as set out and closely monitored by the Coeliac Society to ensure that we are gluten free, both in terms of our ingredients and our production process. We are so confident you will love every bottle we send you, we promise to guarantee the quality and satisfaction.

Beer is notoriously high in both calories and carbs. On average, a pint of 5% ABV beer contains around 240 calories (current NHS estimate) - about the same amount as you will find in a slice of pizza from a takeaway! We prefer this to the Bud as it has a less harsh malty flavour and more salty and light-lager flavour. Definitely worth a try and very easy to find in different establishments and supermarkets. The classic American ‘bro’ beer, the haters will tell you it’s not a real beer. It’s definitely not an IPA with layers of hop complexity but it is a decent light lager with only 2.1 carbs and 79 calories per serving. This criteria includes testing for gluten using a UKAS accredited laboratory which we do for EVERY batch. Also our production facilities must meet the requirements of the AOECS Standard for Gluten Free Foods. If you are on a keto or low carb diet and want to have a few cold ones, we understand. We’ve been missing having a few beers after work so we are currently on the lookout for alternatives to a straight whiskey. We have already looked into can you drink on keto, and now we will look into some of the best low carb beer available in the UK.

Comes in at an extra 3 carbs per can over the Bud light, but if you want a few those extra carbs add up. We only tried this recently and actually did enjoy it, definitely give this nice light lager a try. There are two different production methods that qualify a product as ‘Gluten Free’. Either no gluten is used at all during the production process or the gluten can be removed to a value <20ppm. More malty than the Cisk and the Marston’s, still a thin lager but this time with strong carbonation. If you prefer the stronger carbonation and malty butterscotch / honey flavour. Definitely worth a try if you can get hold of it but might not suit all tastes. On average, a normal-strength pint of beer contains anywhere from 4% ABV, which equates to 2.3 units. A pint of 5.2% lager or beer contains 3 units.
