Description

House of the Dragon Season 2 began filming in the United Kingdom in April before moving over to Spain in May, with the season supposedly expected to continue production until around the end of the year.

The Doctor Who 60th anniversary specials will be available to own on DVD and Blu-ray from the 11th December.By all accounts, it appears neither of the superhero stars, Olsen and Cavill, will actually make their way into House of the Dragon, at least not with Season 2. Overall, after never seeing a Game of Thrones episode, I rather enjoyed this opener to the prequel, although it would be easier to get into it if I had subtitles, given most of the cast mumble a fair bit.

With such deliberate pacing, House of the Dragon seems poised for at least one more season and possibly more. It’s worth remembering that the events of the series, even after the time jumps, still puts the date over one hundred years before Daenerys Targaryen is even born—allowing for decades more of Targaryen drama, inbreeding, and dramatic conversation-ending hmmms. House of the Dragon season 1 will consist of 10 episodes and will release weekly with the schedule below. Now that House of the Dragonhas premiered, all eyes are on when it will come to DVD and Blu-ray. There is some great news in the fact that the Game of Thrones prequel should get a DVD release date. While it does air on HBO Max, it’s a HBO show and HBO shows still head to DVD and Blu-ray. Naturally, I’m going to avoid any sort of spoilers as much as possible, but I’ll only give you one plot point which happens early on AND is in the trailer – since it’s unavoidable – in that the Prince takes the crown, leaving the Princess rather miffed. The cast list also states that he’s the King, BTW. The incredibly fancy (and, truth be told, a little more expensive) Steelbook format is the only choice for those needing a physical media release that doubles as a table tennis bat in a pinch. If that's you, [...]And naturally, when it comes to medical procedures, it’s not easy to get great healthcare. There’s certainly no NHS in the year 101 A.D., nor anesthetic, it appears. Following the events of House of the Dragon Season 1 and the death of King Viserys I Targaryen, the world of Westeros is heading for a full-on civil war for the Iron Throne, known by most as the "Dance of the Dragons." Naturally, there are certain things that I cannot spoil in my review… but that would be to assume that I understood any of it in the first place. No, seriously, this wasn’t anywhere near as confusing as I thought it might be, so The Sandman will, effectively, take the Crown for that one, although I did spot Bill Patterson turning up in both.

Despite the Hollywood strikes, House of the Dragon has carried on as filming was not affected by the SAG-AFTRA strike and the script for the second season was already completed before the WGA strike. According to Variety, a Season 2 trailer has been shown to press, who aren't allowed to report on the content of the clip. But more importantly, we also have an official release timeframe: Summer 2024. We’re told at the start in a voiceover, that as the first century in the Targaryen dynasty came to a close, the King’s health is failing, although they still have 10 dragons, so between them they could rustle up a tasty barbeque in the summer, I’m sure. I mean, sure, yeah. [I like to do] anything that’s worth telling, that’s a good story, that’s innovative, that [has] great characters.” There is not that long to wait for the release, at all. The House of the Dragon Season 1 DVD will come out on Tuesday, Dec. 20. This is much earlier than expected, but the release date makes a lot of sense. This is perfect timing for Christmas gift ideas, and it fits around the time Game of Thrones was often released on DVD and Blu-ray.The freshly-married couple of Rhaenyra and Daemon Targaryen will head to war with the newly-crowned King Aegon II. House of the Dragon all looks very opulent, as you’d expect… okay, I’ve never watched a whole episode of Game of Thrones, but I’ve seen a number of clips to get the idea, and not just the clip of the Stella lager can, put on the table to troll the viewers. However, I am aware of Daenerys and that she was kind of a big deal. Nonetheless, Olsen was clear she would be open to joining House of the Dragon if they have a story "that's worth telling:" There are also rumors the series will continue past Season 2 and into Season 3—rumors stoked by its star Matt Smith, who let plans slip on an episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast for after the Episode 6 time jump: “Once we make the jump, we’re in. I’m pretty sure from then on there’s not any big huge time jumps, particularly next season and the one after.” House of the Dragon is the Game Of Thrones prequel which fans have been waiting for since the long-running series ended in 2019.

Now, as for when the time comes for someone else to sit on the Iron Throne, who will take the Crown, since everyone seems to want to get in on the succession action? Well, you have to watch the programme to find out, since that’s how these things work. Much like the first season of House of the Dragon, new episodes of Season 2 are expected to premiere weekly on HBO and simultaneously onto Max - the newly-rebranded Warner Bros. streaming service, formerly HBO Max.
