In 2013, a new national curriculum was announced for 2014 marking the demise of levels, the return of formal KS1 SATs tests and the introduction of a new measure of attainment. Past SATs papers are real SATs tests that were published and used in previous years. These past papers have been used for many years in schools to help prepare pupils for their upcoming SATs. Past KS1 SATs Papers are KS1 SATs papers that were used in previous years. The sample papers from 2016 were available to schools in 2015 in preparation for the new SATs in 2016. Teachers may find this guidance helpful in planning and prioritising the curriculum during coronavirus (COVID-19) recovery. For 2024, the STA plans to continue publishing KS1 SATs Papers but schools are no longer required to use them.
