Description

There are many advantages to undergoing nipple correction surgery. As each individual patient is different, the way in which it can impact on their life varies. For example, some people may be embarrassed to get naked in a dressing room or in front of their partners because of their inverted nipple. Whereas others may simply dislike the way they look to themselves in the mirror and dents their self confidence.

Nipple inversion usually has no impact on a person’s health and is not a cause for concern. It is fairly common and can often be temporarily corrected with manual stimulation. Some people prefer permanent correction with cosmetic surgery. Determine the grade of your inverted nipples. Take off your shirt and stand in front of a mirror. Holding your breast at the edge of the areola (the dark area of skin surrounding the nipple) between your thumb and forefinger, press inwards about an inch behind your nipple. Be firm but gentle. Depending on the nipple's response, you can assess the grade of inversion. It’s super comfortable and made of the softest material ever. You’ll want to wear it forever to sleep in, even after you’re done breastfeeding. For some women, inverted nipples can make breastfeeding more difficult. Some women find that their baby has a hard time latching onto the nipple to feed. This may be because, due to inversion, the nipple doesn’t become erect.

It shouldn’t have any effect on your health. We believe that the highest quality aftercare is just as important as the surgery itself, so we’re here to support you through the recovery period. You’ll need to give your body plenty of time to heal and we’ll give you detailed guidance on the best way to do this. The recovery period will differ from person to person, but we recommend at least one week off work and in some cases two weeks may be necessary. You’ll need to avoid and strenuous activity and tight clothing in the first couple of weeks after surgery to prevent any chafing or discomfort to your nipples. If you are over 50 and your areola appears distorted and your nipple appears flatter than normal, or has become inverted, get screened for breast cancer immediately. Feeling self conscious can influence a patients like in many ways and often affects the decisions they can make in life, such as career, the clothes they wear and partners. Most nipple infections happen during lactation, but subareolar breast abscesses appear in people who are not lactating.

At your appointment, remind your piercer that you have inverted nipples. They’ll likely want to make the room colder to help draw out the nipple. Your piercer may also use nipple clamps to help pull the nipple out. Depending on the extent of your inverted nipples, surgery is usually a minor procedure that is carried out using local anaesthetic. Not everyone finds piercing effective. It’s important that you weigh your options before getting pierced. Talk to your doctor and potential piercer about the benefits and risks.Money is also a factor to consider. Spending a lot of money on a product does not guarantee that you will get its best functions. Sometimes, products with affordable prices may fit your requirements. Considering specifications & features Before you leave the hospital, we’ll talk to you about looking after yourself at home and make a follow-up appointment with your surgeon to remove your stitches. We’ll give you the number for our 24/7 patient helpline so you can speak to a member of our clinical team, day or night.

It’s like having your very own lactation consultant BFF 💛 // fairy milk-mother ✨ breaking down the 1st 6 weeks for you. The breast shell may stimulate lactation in people who breastfeed. Nursing parents should not wear them continuously for days on end. If you wear the shell during feedings, be sure to wash it in hot, soapy water afterwards, and dispose of any milk leaked into the shell during wearing.Place the Avent Niplette over your nipple with one hand and pull the syringe with the other, creating suction. Don't pull too hard - this should not be painful! The possible complications of any surgery can include an unexpected reaction to a local anaesthetic, excessive bleeding and infection. Nipple formers apply gentle pressure on the areola (the circle of darker-coloured skin around the nipple), which can help to gradually draw out a flat or inverted nipple. You can start to use nipple formers during pregnancy, from about 32 weeks onwards. However, if you have a medical condition known as an incompetent (weakened) cervix or have been told your baby may be born prematurely, speak to your healthcare professional before using nipple formers, as nipple stimulation may bring on contractions. Begin by wearing nipple formers for one hour a day and gradually increase to around eight hours per day. If necessary, you can continue wearing them after your baby’s birth, between feeds (for 30 minutes to an hour before breastfeeding). However, avoid wearing them at night, to prevent tender nipples developing.
