Description

Around the same time, Fox's commissioned a taxidermist to obtain and stuff a real-life polar bear to display and to bring to large public events such as football matches, carnivals and fairgrounds as an advertisement for Fox's Glacier Mints. Travelling all over the country, Peppy is reported to have been joined by as many as four more stuffed polar bears. In Indonesia, Fox's candies are currently manufactured by PT Savoria Kreasi Rasa (a subsidiary of Djarum, a cigarette manufacturing company). The rebrand aims to bring the sweet to new audiences, according to Derek&Eric co-founder Adam Swan. Hard sweets like Fox’s are a “declining category” amid the popularity of soft sweets like Haribo and the new branding hopes to “sway it to a younger consumer”, he adds. Walter Richard Fox, the founder of Fox's Confectionery, originally manufactured sweets as part of the Joyce and Fox partnership, but this was dissolved in 1897. Fox continued to make confectionery, and was joined in 1914 by his son Eric. [2] Product creation and development [ edit ] We are selling these sweets just like you got them in the good old days, - from our very own candy store sweet shelf's, from the sweet jar and hand weighed into a paper bag - and you get a 113g bag that's about a good old fashion quarter of a pound in weight for those of you than can still remember those good old days where you could buy sweets from your local traditional sweet shop from a quarter to half a pound!

These sweets are another Great family favourite edition to our ever-growing huge range of traditional hard-boiled retro sweets. Following the success of their Glacier Mints in 1918, Fox’s took the next step in 1956 of launching the Glacier Fruits. These mouth-watering sweets have proved highly popular, and are now made with no artificial flavours. The iconic Fox's Glacier Mint was developed by confectioner Eric Fox in 1918 and over 100 years later this is still a firm favourite at AQuarterOf.co.uk. In 1918, the clear mints started to be produced on a larger scale and sold in glass jars and named Clear Mint Fingers! A bit fancier than your standard mints or paper bagged penny sweets - these are are your premium mints. In line with the rest of Fox's Glacier range, the product is produced using real liquorice extract to deliver an intense and unique flavour. Since the launch of the product in 2002, the product has become a strong member of Fox's Glacier family and demand for the product is growing year on year. In August 2005 Liquorice & Aniseed rebranded to Fox's Glacier Dark with an updated contemporary design to ensure consistency throughout the Glacier range. ( November 2022) In September 2002, Fox's Liquorice & Aniseed (Glacier Dark) was launched as an addition to the range. Glacier Mints were first created in 1918 by Eric Fox. [1] [3] [4] To begin with, they were called Acme Clear Mint Fingers, [5] but this was changed to Glacier Mints in 1919, apparently on the advice of Eric Fox's wife. [2] [4] From 1928, the mints have been individually wrapped. [5] There have been many other limited-edition flavours of Fox's mints including Pop Bottle Favourites and Fruit and Spice. To celebrate the 100th anniversary of 2018 Fox's released Spearmint and Tropical flavours (we loved them both!).
