When you apply the ointment to the skin, or use it instead of soap, these oils stay on the surface of the skin to prevent water evaporating from the skin surface. If you are using medicines which are also to be applied to the skin you should talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Hydromol Ointment as it might not be suitable to apply other topical preparations at the same time.
