The pBuzz can illustrate the science of sound, with longer/lower and shorter/higher connections to the slide and the pitches – a great cross-curricular / STEAM topic. The inner tube has a number of markings to aid teaching and to make it nice and simple for the child to start learning. There’s a little hand symbol with an ‘R’ and another with an ‘L’ so that the hands are in the correct position (obviously presuming by this stage the child knows their left from their right!). The colours, letters and numbers are all really clear and bold so whichever way teachers decide to use it should be fairly straightforward to get going. pBuzz is a brass instrument made from plastic. It is like no other brass instrument in that it is designed to play only one harmonic or partial, so no bugle calls here! You can however play chromatically from F to C by lengthening and shortening pBuzz with its sliding body. It has a mouthpiece that was specifically invented by us to make playing your first notes on a brass instrument as easy as possible and in fact, the instrument was designed around this mouthpiece. The pBuzz is pretty much a simplified version of the trombone - it features an authentic trombone mouthpiece and a moveable slide to change the pitch, however, it is more compact and certainly a lot lighter than a traditional instrument, which makes it easy for younger players to start making their first steps towards playing a real instrument.

We only spent a short while discussing the notation, colours and numbers as initially I just wanted him to have fun with it. Personally, I will probably choose to teach him using the letters so he becomes more familiar with the terminology but I can see how in a larger group using numbers or colours could be a little easier. It is clear to see that in a structured environment it would be relatively easy to get a class of children learning to play and most importantly having fun whilst doing so. Teaching using numbers and colours should also make it easier for some ‘non-specialists’ to get a group up and running. Pritchard took the Global Marketer of the Year title following a turbulent 12 months, through which he has encouraged his marketing teams to focus on ‘lean innovation’ and think like start-ups; put a laser-sharp focus on brand purpose, sustainability, and business growth; and successfully steered the business towards the calmer waters of the new normal. constant threes = tagset ( 100 , 0 , 3 ) , fives = tagset ( 100 , 0 , 5 ) , fifteens = tagset ( 100 , 0 , 15 ) for i = 1 to 100 do if not find ( i , threes ) and not find ( i , fives ) and not find ( i , fifteens ) then printf ( 1 , "%d" , i ) end if if find ( i , threes ) and not find ( i , fives ) and not find ( i , fifteens ) then printf ( 1 , "Fizz" ) end if if not find ( i , threes ) and find ( i , fives ) and not find ( i , fifteens ) then printf ( 1 , "Buzz" , i ) end if if find ( i , threes ) and find ( i , fives ) and find ( i , fifteens ) then printf ( 1 , "FizzBuzz" ) end if printf ( 1 , "\n" ) end for The Model Music Curriculum makes the recommendation that primary-aged children should have an hour’s music lesson every week (which can be split into several smaller sessions if necessary). The pBuzz KS1 Music Curriculum has been designed to recognise that all schools are different, and therefore the amount of time allocated to music will vary. Geared towards children, this is a fantastic choice for schools and workshops. It has been noted that e arly exposure to a playful product like this can help develop a child’s sensory and fine motor skills, encourage self-expression, stimulate imagination and creativity, build confidence and nurture their natural music talents.

IF j 3 MOD THEN "" ELSE "Fizz" END IF j 5 MOD NOT THEN "Buzz" + END IF DUP SIZE NOT THEN DROP j END Grotesquely inefficient (non-tabulated output), just for fun. Can you do worse, yet keep it semi-plausibile that someone might have actually earnestly written it? The accompanying lesson plans are pedagogically very sound and are well structured to support children’s musical development.” - Gary Spruce, Music Teacher Conclusion At KS1, the composing aspect of the Model Music Curriculum covers similar ground to the pBuzz KS1 Music Curriculum, requiring pupils to create sequences of sounds in response to a wide variety of stimuli, using their voices and tuned and untuned instruments. Where the pBuzz curriculum differs, is our provision of differentiation ideas for composing (and performing) activities, providing a more inclusive approach to composing across the Key Stage. With 4 major motion pictures and a cast of iconic characters, Toy Story has captured the power of friendship and the magic of play for kids of all ages.
