Description

If you’re a completionist, this game may frustrate you. Hidden under the meat of the main game, there are a lot of collect-a-thon objectives. The optional objectives include: destroying all of the buildings, activating all of the RDU’s, and rescuing all of the trapped hostages. There are a lot of hidden areas lying in the middle of empty fields, but since the camera doesn’t like to show anything useful, they’re easy to miss. To add to this, there are a number of optional side missions that are never quite as fun as the main story missions. Of course, the key word here is optional, so there’s no use getting upset about features that you can just pass on. RADAR POINT: Take J-Bomb straight north from its start point. After some flying, you should find the road where the carrier came from, a grassy slope, and the satellite dish lounging next to the river. a b c d e f g h i j k l m n o p q r s Schneider, Peer (March 26, 1997). Baboon Catacomb: More pac-man! Much the same as Gibbon's Gate, there isn't too much to it other than constantly being on the move and making sure you don't trap yourself between a couple of bulldozers. Remember to feel free to go around the whole map a couple of times, don't over fret about trying to clear it out section by section. The Ballista is a motorcycle that destroys obstacles by firing missiles at them. The missiles are in limited supply, and are collected from ammunition boxes found on the relevant levels. The astronauts of the shuttle are so grateful of this job well done that they let you use their spaceship whenever you like! RADAR POINTS: One is on a ledge of the cliff to the northeast. The second is on a small island in the bay to the very south. a b c d e Ward, Trent (April 28, 2000). "Blast Corps Review". GameSpot. Some race levels restrict the choice of vehicle. To do this, you’re provided with a large number of demolition vehicles which range from straightforward (like a bulldozer) to bizarre (like a car that destroys buildings by ramping into them). Most of the vehicles are very unique and require a different strategy to get the most out of them. Some of them are very easy to use, while others require a lot of practice. Although many of the levels force you to use a specific vehicle, every now and then you’ll be required to switch between a few of them to accomplish your goal. Other times, you can find a simpler vehicle stashed away somewhere on a particularly difficult level, which will make things easier for you, if you can find them. The boys in the development department of Rare are notorious for hiding clues and references in nearly every game. In Blast Corps, racing missions are required to advance. Certain vehicles are used in these missions: Totilo, Stephen (August 3, 2015). "Rare Replay: The Kotaku Review". Kotaku. Archived from the original on August 4, 2015 . Blast Corps head to a major iron deposit where the carrier is rolling toward residential development. Unfortunately for new home owners, the first targets in this mission will be four sets of row houses. Hurry up because the carrier is really close here. Head down the hill and flatten four more rows with Sideswipe. Heading up the hill, you are sure to notice a giant, silver robot within a building. Punch down the walls and jump in Thunderfist. Miners here have set up major digging operations, so you’ll need Thunderfist to demolish this and let the carrier through.Make your way past the sewer and demolish the gas station, the grocery store, and the gentlemen’s club. These are easy, but once you cross the parking lot to the northwest, things get tougher. The next five tenements are durable, strong buildings. Worse yet, there are few hills, and very little space for movement. This is a tough stage, so you might need to practice a few times. After the five tenements are down, the final hotel should be no problem. Much like Cromlech Court, this level is pretty much just another free one. The level is Argent Towers again, just without the extra stuff and with the relatively easy Cyclone Suit. As soon as the level starts, with the initial camera angle you will see a barn right in front of you (North east of you if you'd like). Go shoot this barn to reveal the Cyclone Suit, you will be able to take it from here! Apart from a few RDU's that are behind you when you start, there is nothing hidden on this level so just follow the streets around destroying everything. When you're in the Cyclone Suit there are a few places you can stand that will make the camera angle come very low, you can use this to your advantage to scan around for things you may have missed.
