As you can see there is quite a bit of product on the applicator and that caused an uneven application. It also went on weird to begin with, which is a problem I have had with many other lip stains in the past. I’m not sure what it is with me and lip stains, but they hardly ever work for me. What makes you think is a bright red lip stain, is in fact an intense poppy red. I was surprised at how easy this was to use and how the color build up into this deep red shade. As it wore down it looked fine too and I had to use a hardcore make up remover to get this off. A perfect lip product if you want to wear a lip color to the beach as it is 100% waterproof. It does dry out your lips though, but since hardly anything breaks this up, applying balm on top is no biggy. Catrice therefore called out for the term “asianification”, which means the creation of products that are inspired by the technology and ingredients used in the asian beauty industry. Some inspirations come from the very popular cushion products, but also lip tints which are super popular in Korea. I own two Catrice Aqua Ink Lip Liners and a Gloss from their Aqua Ink collection, and I will share the swatches and my impression on these products with you today. Die Catrice Aqua Ink-In-Gloss Lip Stains sind eine der Catrice Neuheiten 2017, die von den großen Bloggern bisher eher übersehen wurden – zu Unrecht! Damit Ihr diese super angenehmen, ultra haltbaren Lippenprodukte auf gar keinen Fall verpasst, gibt es heute bei mir einen ausführlichen Review. After trying that first lip stain, I wasn’t too hopeful about this one. However, this is the surprise product of this review. This is not a lip liner, despite its name. It is a long-lasting water-based lip staining product that is semi-permanent that just won’t budge. And that’s also what Catrice promises this product to be.

The difference between the colors of the two shades is not very huge once I apply them on my lips. Below you can see the two colors applied to my lips. On the right side I applied 050 and on the left side I applied 060. The finish of the lip liner is matte and it gives a very long-lasting stain on your lips. It will fade after eating and drinking all day long, but the hint of color will still be visible on your lips. Wie auch ihre koreanischen Vorbilder funktionieren die Catrice Aqua Ink-In-Gloss Lip Stains sozusagen in 2 Phasen: Als recht klassische, nicht allzu lang haltbare Lip Cream nach dem ersten Auftragen, und als die Lippen dauerhaft und intensiv einfärbender Stain oder Tint. Ich habe beim Auftragen von Burgundy Sunset Waves das Gefühl gehabt, dass er sich noch ein klein wenig besser verstreichen lässt, und kleinere Unregelmässigkeiten gnädiger vergibt als Let’s Mauve to the Beach. Die Farbe ist wundervoll knallig, aber dabei trotzdem alltagstauglich dank der leichten Konsistenz.

The staying power is a huge plus. The lip liner stays on my lips for almost 24-30 hours after which it starts fading away. It leaves a semi-permanent tint to my lips because of which the color is very hard to remove. I use an oil-based makeup remover and a scrub to remove the stain completely. It is a waterproof lip liner and thus, it easily sustains meals and drinks. Also, the lip liner stains my clothes and the mistakes stay for almost 2 days. The product is not at all moisturising on the lips, so it is essential to hydrate your lips before application. Overall, it is a great product. Typically for a gloss it comes with a angled sponge applicator. Surprisingly, the swatched product is super vibrant in color and not what you expect a gloss to be. Unlike the lip liners this product doesn’t dry down matte but stays glossy and moist on the lips. Also this stain is very long-lasting and despite fading out throughout the day by drinking and eating it will still leave a hint of color on your lips. Tja, was soll ich sagen: Es ist wahre Liebe! Die Catrice Aqua Ink-In-Gloss Lip Stains haben mich bis auf ein paar kleine Negativpunkte total überzeugt. Ich mag die leichte Konsistenz und die intensiven Farben, und insbesondere Burgundy Sunset Waves ist ein neuer Lippenliebling geworden.Die Catrice Aqua Ink-In-Gloss Lip Stains sind mir schon bei meinem Preview Beitrag über die Catrice Sortimentsneuheiten für das Frühjahr 2017 ins Auge gesprungen! Aus irgendeinem Grund schien ich da jedoch die einzige Beauty Bloggerin zu sein, denn die meisten konzentrieren sich auf eine der anderen Lippen Neuheiten von Catrice: Die glossigen Lip Cushions! Klar, alles was “Cushion” im Titel hat, ist derzeit interessant, verstehe ich schon. Allerdings muss ich sagen, dass mich persönlich die Lip Cushions beim Swatchen eher enttäuscht haben: Sie erschienen mir sehr klebrig und nicht besonders innovativ, eigentlich nur ein normales Gloss mit einem Kissenapplikator. Meh. There is absolutely no transfer and even with make up remover, it’ll stay on your lips. I wore it a couple of weeks ago, when I went to a restaurant. I applied it around 6 pm in the evening and it was still on my lips when I woke up in the morning. It just slightly faded on the inside of my mouth. I like this color when it’s on the center of my lip. However, I don’t like how it leaves some sort of weird ring around my mouth. It’s almost as if it pulls a completely different shade on the outer edge of my lips and I like this better after it wears down a bit. The color looks less shiny and gives more of a my lips but better kind of look. But this isn’t a product I will reach for often: it is too fussy to apply.
