Description

The Wii Balance Board ( Japanese: バランスWiiボード, Hepburn: Baransu Wī Bōdo) is an accessory for the Wii and Wii U video game consoles. The Wii Balance Board sold 32 million units worldwide between its launch and November 2010, and set a new Guinness World Record for "best-selling personal weighing device". According to the NPD Group, GfK Chart-Track, and Enterbrain, from January to July 2008 the game sold 1. Wii Fit is the Cliffs Notes version of exercise, and as anyone who’s ever tried a fad exercise program knows, there are no shortcuts to fitness. Players register and play in Wii Fit via a user profile, assigned with the player's date of birth, height, and Mii character, that keeps track of the player's progress.

Hyper commends the game for its "effective exercise program, its accessibility and its massive novelty value".To start the purchasing process, it is necessary to sign in with the Nintendo Account and the Nintendo Network ID. Set-up is dead simple: load the Wii Fit disc, sync the board with your Wii (as you do with Wiimotes, switch the board on and you're good to go). It was later revealed by Sakurai, in commemoration of the release of the trial version of Wii Fit U, [86] that the male trainer would also appear, albeit as an alternate character that shares the female's slot and characteristics.

The actual physical structure of the board can withstand much greater force equivalent to around 300kg (660pounds). Some people get utterly addicted to Brain Training, for example, while others tire of the repetition after a week or so. Much like Brain Age, you can chart your daily progress and compare it against previous results, as well as other friends and family who play Wii Fit.

Step aerobics (simply referred to as "Step" in-game) focus on stepping on and off the Wii Balance Board in a rhythmic fashion.

In a study, an 86-year-old woman was unable to walk without close supervision, even with a walker, due to poor balance and a tendency to fall, after a stroke.com's review, one such limitation was attributed to the lack of structure the game imposes on the player, stating that while having "complete freedom to choose what you want to do, you might find yourself cheating, despite your best intentions. While the playful balance and aerobics minigames have generally been praised as simple fun, [13] criticism for the game is aimed at its limitations in offering a serious workout regime.
