Description

In recent years, mangaand its Korean equivalent, manhwa, have become increasingly popular in the West. Though similar to traditional American comics, manga and manhwa often deal with more complex issues. The series has been licensed English in print format by Seven Seas Entertainment. [3] A live action television adaptation of the series was announced on February 24, 2022. [4] Plot [ edit ] STORY: I'm not a BL lover, I usually read them if they're really high in A-P's charts or I feel like removing themfrom my w2r list. But this one is special. This is the first BL manhwa I read that really balances well story and fanservice. Everything you see BL related is part of the plot and it's necessary to go deep with what both main characters think and feel. A story that is not only intriguing for how it is narrated, but also it's plausible because unfortunately kidnappers, stalkers and murderers are not only part of TV series like NCIS or CSI. Everything you see can happen in real life and it's not pleasant. This is not just a dramatic shounen-ai: this is a psychological thriller that can impressionate readers for its levels of violence, atypical in your everyday's BL. I believe this is the biggest reason why Killing Stalking is so accessible to everybody: not only it's fun for the usual girls waiting for the next ding dong to hit the next bum (pun intended), but even a different public that can recognize the quality behind a horrorific and thrilling scenario such as this one. (+++)

And yet, the subject matter makes Killing Stalking challenging to recommend. You need to have a strong stomach to overcome its complicated themes. Some readers may find that the plot too extreme for them, which is an understandable reaction. Discover amazing stories on Speechify Audiobooks The story follows Bum, a young mentally ill man with a difficult past. After becoming infatuated with Oh Sangwoo, a peer from his time in the military who saved him from a rape attempt, he decides to enter Sangwoo's home while he is out of his house. Bum finds a tied up, bruised woman in Sangwoo's basement and before he is able to free her, he is discovered by Sangwoo, who is revealed to be a serial killer. Sangwoo then breaks Bum's ankles and despite Bum's previous love for him, Sangwoo puts Bum into a highly abusive and manipulative relationship until the very end. Killing Stalking is about a boy named Yoon Bum who has a crush on another named Oh Sangwoo. Well, “a crush” is putting it mildly. Due to his abusive past, Bum is in an unstable mental state and is stalking Sangwoo, even to the point of attempting to break into his home. Though Killing Stalking is classified as boys’ love, you’d be wrong if you start the series expecting some steamy or wholesome romance. Overall, Killing Stalking is a disturbing and intense manga series that is not for everyone but has gained a dedicated fanbase for its well-developed characters and thought-provoking storytelling. If you’re interested in reading it, be prepared for graphic content and triggering themes. Author(s)Fourthly and finally, the art and color is amazing. Which is what I suppose makes it even more intense and graphic, but nonetheless incredible. The character designs too are attractive. I mean, Sangwoo....he's so attractive, the devil... especially when he wears glasses and an apron... SHIZZZ I mean remember the context, remember the context, remember the context(ಥ_ಥ) Yoonbum is adorable. You just want to give him happiness and love. Which is non-existant in this Manhwa. Anyway, hope this review helped give another perspective on Killing Stalking. Just.... keep the lights on when you read it(T▽T) Killing Stalking has four volumes, each being a graphic novel that you can read in an hour or two. Though it started life as a webcomic, Killing Stalking’s twisted depiction of love has made it a popular read for those who prefer stories dealing with life’s darker side. Here we review the comic to determine if it’s a good choice for you. What is Killing Stalking about?

Complex” is one word you could certainly use to describe Killing Stalking. Created by writer and artist Koogi, the manhwa is published by Lezhin Comics in Korea and Seven Seas Entertainment in English-speaking countries. After months of failed attempts, Bum finally manages to break into Sangwoo’s home. Once there, he discovers a girl, beaten up, tied, blindfolded, and gagged. Before he could free her, Sangwoo shows up and kidnaps Bum as well. In a sense, Killing Stalking can be viewed as a twisted romance story. However, it’s more accurately a depiction of abuse and mental illness within a relationship. Is Killing Stalking appropriate for children to read? Bum, whose name fits perfectly for many reasons, is obsessed with Sangwoo, a charismatic and attractive guy.His desire is so strong that Bum decides to stalk Sangwoo to find out where he lives. His curiosity pushes him to infiltrate his house and discovers that... oh you don't want to know. GO READ IT!

For example, after reading Chapter 1 of Killing Stalking for free, simply wait about half a day for the next chapter to become available to you. Meanwhile, the whole time this toxic relationship develops, a police officer named Yang Seungbae is hot on Oh Sangwoo’s trail. Stories with complex themes are often the most exciting tales. At Speechify Audiobooks, you’ll find over 60,000 titles written by authors from all around the globe. Goodness, where do I start? First of all, this is a highly intense manhwa. For literally every reason. Intense abuse, nudity, violence, language, torture, etc. BUT the characters and story are really well thought out and so fascinating. It's insane how scary and suspenseful the author paces this story. Every chapter gives me so much anxiety because of how unstable the characters are. You really never know who's gonnabe alive or dead in the next panel.

Manga, manhwa, and other forms of fiction tend to be a form of escapism where people can go to a world better than their own. But sometimes, works of fiction can also be about the abusive and toxic realities of the world, grounding people into reality and giving them some food for thought. Killing Stalking belongs to the latter category. Secondly, the relationship between Sangwoo and YoonBum is tragic, abusive, torturous...just really messed up. It's difficultto see Sangwoo torturing and beating up Yoonbum and then hugging and kissing him. It messes with your mind. You know you're not supposed to ship them, but the extreme contrast between the abuse and the affection makes you want some kind of happiness to happen....It's a horrible, horrible struggle.

But ultimately, there is nothing romantic about the relationship. What starts as a relatable story, at least in its early stages, soon goes berserk as the true depths of Oh Sangwoo’s sadism are revealed. Upon entering Oh Sangwoo’s house, Yoon Bum discovers a tied-up woman with heavy bruising. Before Yoon Bum can release the woman and escape, he’s confronted by Oh Sangwoo. This confrontation reveals that Oh Sangwoo is a serial killer, with the woman in the basement being his latest victim. Instead of releasing Yoon Bum, Oh Sangwoo breaks Yoon Bum’s ankles and keeps him at his home. Yoon Bum, in particular, is an interesting character. It’s hard to say that the comic depicts true love between two men in any sense of the word. Yoon Bum’s infatuation makes him easy to manipulate. As a true psychopath, Oh Sangwoo takes advantage of these feelings to serve his own ends. Many of the comic’s fans read the manhwa as a twisted take on the yaoi, or boys’ love, genre. However, Koogi states that her intention isn’t to depict love between two men. It’s to show the extremes a true psychopath will go to when he has a victim who is in love with him. Our Killing Stalking manhwa review No, Killing Stalking’s graphic themes mean it is not appropriate for children. In fact, even many adults may find the manhwa difficult to stomach. What is the length of Killing Stalking? It depends on who you ask. Many in the fandom consider Killing Stalking a BL (Boys’ Love) manhwa. But its creator, Koogi, states she never intended it to fall into that genre. Is Killing Stalking a romance story? Killing Stalking ( Korean: 킬링 스토킹) is a South Korean manhwa written and illustrated by Koogi. It was published online in Korean and English by Lezhin Comics and won the ₩100,000,000 Grand Prize Award at the Second Lezhin World Comics Contest. [1] [2]
