Description

Despite the absence of early single "Little Thoughts", Silent Alarm feels complete; it's an astonishing, confident and infectious debut. Recorded in Copenhagen and London in mid-2004 with producer Paul Epworth, it was released in February 2005 on Wichita Recordings. The compositional focus was on rhythm and the drum and bass parts, while lyricist Kele Okereke's writing examined the feelings and hopes of young adults, including views on global politics. But it's Kele Okereke's vocal that's the band's most flexible facet, morphing from frothing anger to breathless desperation.

Although it wouldn’t hurt if there were more “party” (the celebratory kind, not the political one) in Silent Alarm, it’s still a fine debut album with a lot of passion and polish; it’s hard not to respect, if not fully embrace, the intensity and integrity of Bloc Party’s music. This album's a soundscape for the time it was made, can make you feel nostalgic for the mid-2000's even if you've never heard the songs before. The Silent Enigma', Anathema's second studio album, was originally released in the summer of 1995 and is the first release on which guitarist Vincent Cavanagh took over the vocal duties of recently. Much more polished, serious, and straight-ahead than their initial EPs suggested, Bloc Party’s debut album, Silent Alarm, reveals them as a band equally informed by taut art-punk and the grand gestures and earnestness of groups like Coldplay and U2.Después de leer montones de opiniones negativas referentes a que se escucha mal y saltan las canciones repetidamente, he de decir que el disco me ha llegado impoluto, no salta ni una canción y se escucha de miedo. M (Mint): The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality.

It lies at the heart of the album, in Matt Tong's relentlessly creative drum patterns and frantic fills.

There are thirteen tracks here spread over 50 minutes, but not once does the quality or pace dip below thrilling.

Irrespective of the source, all of our collectables meet our strict grading and are 100% guaranteed.Russell Lissack has forsaken that overdone hallmark of post-punk, brittle tortured-fretboard skronk, in favour of an effects-laden guitar sound that adds genuine prettiness to Bloc Party's edgy rush. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. I love it that I notice new, small, licks and tricks everytime I listen to this album with my headphones on. Styled more along the lines of a revolutionary cell than a band, Bloc Party approach the medium of rock'n'roll with the sort of high seriousness usually reserved for philosophy lectures.
