Description

Now the Daily Mail reports that officers investigating the case discovered three Cluedo cards – depicting the character Colonel Mustard, a lead pipe weapon, and the fictional murder location of “the hall” – in the boot of the car abandoned by Lord Lucan in Newhaven, East Sussex. Black has had an item stolen and, in addition to guessing the criminal, location (room) and stolen object, the time of day when the crime took place also has to be discovered. However, only three distinct editions of Cluedo were released in the UK – the longest of which lasted 47 years from its introduction in 1949 until its first successor in 1996. The object of the game is to determine who murdered the game's victim, where the crime took place, and which weapon was used. The card must go back in the same position, so that the player can look at a different card each time.

Once you narrow down the list of Suspects, Weapons, and Rooms, you’ll have a better guess at what’s inside the envelope. However, after a few books, he wises up enough to be suspicious of them, but continues to invite them over against better judgement. In addition, there were nine weapons, including the unused bomb, syringe, shillelagh (walking stick/ cudgel), fireplace poker, and the later used axe and poison. As mentioned earlier, blocking passage of another player prevents them from attaining rooms from which to make suggestions. Players take on the role of one of six characters as they attempt to determine who stole what couture item in the fashion line was stolen, who took it, and where the item is hidden before the fashion show begins the next day (based on Discover The Secrets rules). These allowed 'clues' to be given by uncovering a small segment of the card, showing only a colour/number. If you love a good whodunnit, Clue (or Cluedo) is the perfect game to try the next time you hang out. Cluedo, or Clue in North America, is a popular murder-mystery themed deduction board game originally published by Waddingtons in Leeds, England in 1949. If you suggest Professor Plum used the Rope in the Ballroom, and you have the Rope and Ballroom in your hand, then Professor Plum is in the envelope if no one else reveals the card. Brunette and Miss Peach—the same four new characters from the VCR games), two weapons (poison and horseshoe), and seven rooms (courtyard, gazebo, drawing room, carriage house, trophy room, studio and fountain) to the mansion.

On later turns, if you’re in a Room that has the words “Secret Passage” in it, you can move to the listed room instead of rolling the dice. There were several differences between the original game concept and the one initially published in 1949.

As alluded to above, blocking the entrance to a room is one way to prevent an opponent from entering a desired room and making a suggestion.
