If you followed this method you could simply tee off the hot and cold going left and right at the bath tap height. The steel plate is fixed into the wall cavity during the "first fix" stage with a simple clamping device that holds the pipes in position, perfectly square and at the correct distance apart.Once fitted the bar valve is extremely secure (can withstand a direct pull force of 130kg with no defects).
