It was my boys who were the catalyst for this book. Most parents I suspect want to help their teenagers and young adults by giving them some worldly advice. Very often it’s hard to find the right situation to have an adult discussion with them. Trapping them in the car on a long journey is a great time to raise awkward subjects but even then the tone usually turns to ‘Dad!, I don’t want to hear this’ and so either the earphones go in or the silence wins the day. I wanted a self discovery book, I never heard of this book but thought I would give it a try and WOW! This books makes you see life in the way life is meant to be seen. Written as a novel which I have never seen in a self discovery book before this was amazing! I absolutely loved reading this book and could not put it down once I'd started.....what a fantastic tale with simple instructions on how to live your best life. The Best Seat in the Universe is most unusual as it is a self-development book but with a difference. Grahame didn’t want to write the usual format of 49 things to improve your life or 110 ways to change. He took a completely different approach writing a story based journey that will make the reader think about their own situation in life.

Gave me direction in life when I didn't quite realise I even needed it. Its a nice easy read, and will change your mindset and your out set. The story starts at the bedside of a dying man, his grandson is with him holding his hand when suddenly the old man’s heart monitor flatlines and the young man is accidentally pulled into his death with him. They head towards the light but when they get there it isn’t choirs and warmth and a spiritual moment as the grandad had expected, they have in fact landed in a forest next to an old bus with its headlights on. This was a beautifully-written, enchanting book that took me to another place. The characters were completely relatable and it was a story with a purpose.
