Description

The gaming performance is generally good, within the limitations of the A6G’s innate abilities. The low input lag certainly results in a responsive experience, and playing a first-person shooter like Call of Duty on the PS5 reveals detailed 4K images and smooth 60Hz motion. The limited colour gamut still looks suitably punchy, and only the mediocre tone-mapping disappoints, producing a tendency to clip highlights. On the plus side, there’s no risk of screen burn with the LCD panel. Before mounting your TV, it is important to locate the studs on the wall. The studs should be able to support the weight of the TV and the mount. You can use a stud finder to locate the studs and mark them with a pencil. Make sure to also measure the height and distance from the wall to ensure that the TV is mounted at the right position.

Hisense delivers on specs, but parts of its performance leave a lot to be desired

Crystal 4K Resolution With Dynamic Crystal Colour - Experience truly stunning 4K Ultra HD picture with our Samsung 4K Smart TV. Our Crystal 4K Processor delivers 4K content and Dynamic Crystal Colour delivers a billion shades for rich vibrant colour. What this basically means is the more Dolby Vision content you can feed the A6G, the better the HDR will look. Thankfully Dolby Vision dominates the main video streaming services and is used by Netflix, Disney+ and Apple TV. It’s also fairly common on 4K Blu-ray, which means you shouldn’t find it hard to get the most out of the A6G when it comes to HDR. Sports Mode: When a sports signal is detected, it switches to Sports Mode for an immersive live stadium experience, from picture to sound. As an upscaler, the Hisense is reasonably adept with 1080p content and all at sea with anything less information-rich. Taking a Full HD image and making it fit the screen doesn’t impact too badly on detail levels or colour fidelity, and motion remains admirably smooth and stable too. But edges can get a bit restless, and the depth of field that is at such a premium with 4K stuff disappears altogether. But taking some DVD-borne information, say, or (worst-case scenario) some daytime TV broadcasts gives the A6G what used to be called ‘the vapours’. Detail levels fall off a cliff, to be replaced by ambiguity and noisiness. Few are the televisions capable of making pictures look simultaneously soft and edgy, but the Hisense 55A6G is one of them.
