Revolution Hair Colour Remover cannot remove cuticle staining. This hair colour remover works only on permanent hair colour. It is not effective on temporary dye nor will it remove cuticle staining.

The Scott Cornwall Decolour strips out all kinds of permanent hair dye and you can reapply hair colour immediately. Some describe it as cat pee and other say it smells like rotten eggs. This could be because the colour remover is extra-powerful to ensure it works on darker hair dyes. Hair colour remover is effective, but it does smell pretty grim. You can get rid of the lingering odour by using some natural remedies: baking soda mixed with water in a spray and sprayed all over your hair is a good solution. Combine baking soda with water until smooth. Wet your hair and apply the mixture thoroughly throughout the hair. Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes before rinsing with water. While most hair colour removers require that you wait several days or even weeks before you apply new colour, you can re-colour your hair immediately after using the L’OREAL ColorZap colour remover. In fact, L’OREAL advices that you plan to re-dye your hair immediately. This is is one of the best hair color removers available right now. This is a strong product that can remove the stubborn permanent dye. This product is gentle enough to also re-color the hair immediately after removal. boost avocado oil, bamboo oil, and a protective complex to help protect against breakage.

It’s important to thoroughly wash out all the dye. If even a little is left behind, it could start re-colouring your hair again. That’s why many hair colour removers recommend rinsing for 20 minutes or more. A colour remover (Not stripper, that’s a different thing) will NOT lift your hair colour. If you find your natural roots are darker after using a colour remover than the hair that had the colour removed. Its because most permanent colours are a 6% peroxide. This means when you pop them on your hair and process them they can lift 1-2 shades. Although you could even be adding a darker shade on there, when removed your hair could be lighter. So again, no blaming the colour remover for doing this. Its the peroxide from the colour you applied before. Once these bonds or links have been dissolved, the artificial colour molecules have nothing to hold them in place and since they are smaller now, they can easily get out of the hair shaft through the cuticle.Colour removers only remove semi/demi and permanent colours. Also if you have had bleach (High lights, full head etc) those areas where you applied colour onto the bleach may have stained the hair. So this will not remove staining. A colour remover will not remove bleach from your hair. Bleached hair has had the colour pigment stripped from it. The tedious amount of rinsing drives me insane. This is why I’d usually f avour the Decolour Remover (Review here) In this process, you want to apply the hair color remover to the ends of your hair first. The ends of your hair are more porous and hold onto dye more. It’s free of ammonia, bleach and other harsh chemicals. So it doesn’t dry out your hair or make it brittle. This means that you can safely re-colour your hair immediately after de-colouring it. Baking soda to remove hair dye is great for getting a soft shade. Maybe help turn that bright red color into a pastel strawberry instead.
