One way to help your alignment is to have a golf ball marker that will help you get the putt started on the right path. There are a ton of different ways to do this so lets’s jump into the best strategies to mark your golf ball to improve your game. Why You Need A Ball Marking on Your Golf Balls Plus, it’s embarrassing and can make for a long round. It makes things even worse if the other player doesn’t realize and they hit the wrong ball, thus getting penalized right along with you.

Very interesting test you did and the results surprise me a bit. I can see how having the same side facing up would help if you were rolling dice at Vegas, but not as sure for the benefit you would gain in golf. From what I understand, the reason for marking the "equator" of a ball was to line up the equator to the direction you want to hit and it would minimize side spin. By marking the top of the ball, you've identified the "north pole" and by placing it on top during a drive you've aligned the equator along the "x-axis" rather than the "y-axis". With that setup, I'm not sure there is any real benefit since it might induce more sidespin? Your blue dot should be lined up pointing at you or pointing away from you. To the question of sharpies... If you take a pair of needle nose pliers and pull the sharpie tip out 1/8/ inch, it works perfectly in the machine.. no more rip off pens... enjoy Great post!! Like Dave Pelz, I am an engineer ( and I work for NASA in the space program) and the first question that can to mind when I was reading the first few paragraphs was "if respun, does it find the same line". Well, sure enough, you answered that question. Well done!! I have yet to try the line on the ball thing, but I have often thought about it. Irreverent golf observations. A weblog not afraid to opine or offend about that ridiculous game called golf. The device comes loaded and ready to go with batteries and marking pen to locate the sweet spot. This tool locates both the balls balanced equator in 30 seconds or less while spinning at 10,000RPM. When the LED light goes off, it means your ball is balanced and ready to mark.

On a perfectly level table top I could see the benifit in putting for a balanced ball. However, on a Green I doubt it makes a bunch of difference... especially Greens played by us non-touring Pro's. OF NOTE ONLY 2 OF 36–3 DOZEN TTILEST PROV V1 BALLS WERE SIGINIFCANTLY OUT OF BALANCE. SO I USE THESE WHEN PLAYING AROUND; NOT WHEN PLAYING FOR SCORE.

Ideally, I think you should have some sort of personal tough (a dot, initials, stamp etc) and an alignment mark on your golf balls. This way, you can sport a logo or personalization and use the arrow/line to help you get putts on the right path. Or, you can also use the Technasonic to find your sweet spot of each golf ball and mark them accordingly.

Other Stuff

First off, marking your golf ball with some sort of marking, logo, or stamps is something that every player should get in the habit of doing. While we’ll cover the benefits of marking your golf ball in this post, the biggest reason is so you can identify your golf ball. I do ocasionally get a ball that must really be out of balance as it will have trouble during the spin-up and want to leave the spinner cup.

Having extra lines will help you see the roll of the ball easier and identify if you’re pulling or pushing it with your putter. This might be too much for some players but it’s a good way to improve your putting on the practice green too. Sharpie is included with this alignment tool but never hurts to have extra. Visualize Tri-Line Golf Alignment Kit Look I get it, hitting bombs on the range is a lot more fun that working on your putting stroke. But if you truly want to improve as a player and lower your handicap, you need to work on what will actually lower your score. You would have to put the card into a computer and see whats left and try to get a gauge on how much in GBs will be left at any time.I just found I could make a ball float with a saturated solution of table salt (hot water and a lot of salt should make the ball surface, and the lighter end will be above the surface, while the heavier end will be deepest), finding the sweet-spot very fast! I added a very small amount of detergent to brake the surface tension of the water (new balls have more trouble rolling with the brand new dimples; put a finger in the mouth of the detergent bottle and rinse it in the solution and that's it). Now, to be honest, the guys in my foursome gave me no end of grief about it. So I made the following wager with them: If this does NOT work then there should be a 1 in 392 chance that my infamous blue dot will be pointed up when the ball comes to rest in the fairway. I'll give you a dime every time it's not up; you give me a dollar every time the blue dot is, in fact, face up when the ball comes to rest. I forget where I read that Hogan would test all his golf balls to assure he didn't use any that were lopsided. He'd put enough salt in a glass of water to make a golf ball float, then spin a ball and allow it to come to a stop while floating. He'd then mark the spot poking out of the water and spin again. If the same spot came up, he knew it was a "bad" ball. Presumably, you could do the same thing, but just draw your line through the spot that "floated." Maybe... For the "good" balls, it wouldn't matter much where you drew the line... again.. maybe.

Side note*** If you do go with this option, make sure the logo is small enough to where it’s not distracting for a player as well. 3. Marking Your Golf Balls for Better Putting Alignment The GoPro MAX Camera allows you to capture traditional HERO-style video with unbreakable stabilization or shoot immersive 360 footage and never miss a shot. Offering three cameras in one, you can shoot single-lens HERO-style video with unbreakable stabilization or capture immersive 360 footage. Vlog to the max with shotgun-mic performance and a front-facing screen. I have found that marking my balls with a line gets me very focused on the line of the putt and not enough on tempo and pace.Seriously, and if I'm misremembering somebody please point it out, but putting the lightest point up (my blue dot mark) and the heaviest side down, which is what I swear Pelz suggested, it minimizes potential side spin off the tee. I also would be more concerned about hitting tee shots on the same spot every time, for those who use a line aimed at target. I just have a feeling that the solid core ball must be getting slightly deformed- ovalized- after many hits. Now that is something that I could see influencing ball flight.
