Description

In 1990, a pre-season friendly was organised between Hibs and Millwall, whose casuals were among the largest and most vicious in Britain. By 2005 the Scottish Football Museum at Hampden Park had in its popular culture section a display case that contained a pair of Adidas training shoes and a sweater worn by a Hibs casual in the 1980s. And then there is the raid on the Kronk, by some distance the bloodiest and most daring attack ever perpetrated by a group of casuals. The nomenclature of CCS was felt by the participants to be the generic title for all casual hooligans who had attached themselves to Hibernian regardless of the individuals capabilities or reputation. Clearly none of this was on the mind of Soccer AM showrunners when they accepted a request from seven CCS members, including Bobby Lipscombe, Andy Blance and Derek Dykes to appear on the show.

Yet again I have a post removed for no known reason I never named any names that could have brought any bother to the site, so why was it deleted? We are also running an auction and raffle and we are appealing to the wider football community to lend us a hand. The episode that focused on Scottish hooligans included a segment on the CCS and there were interviews with two of its former members as well as a journalist who had reported on them during the emergence of Scottish casuals in the mid 1980s. Obviously, there are others out there who won't hesitate to use violence against a Scotland player if they are paid enough. All he got was a burst nose and swollen lip after getting attacked by 50 Hearts fans on one occassion.

CCS yobs took on rivals associated with other Scottish clubs and clashed with “firms” from down south such as Millwall, Leeds and Chelsea. With more than fifty titles in print, and a growing list of e-books, Fort Publishing is one of Scotland’s leading independent publishers. Some Hibs boys were among the interviewees while they were in Amsterdam before the friendly international fixture between the Netherlands and Scotland.

Obviously, there are others out there who won’t hesitate to use violence against a Scotland player if they are paid enough. Will Synott fell over as he now went to intervene and as the security tried to assist he fell off the stage and the concert ended prematurely.
