We add small amounts of rapeseed oil to our Barista Oat range (with organic rapeseed in our Barista Oat Organic) as well as in our Everyday Oat range to help create that smooth texture and mouthfeel. Rapeseed oil is low in saturated fats and is a good source of omegas 3, 6, and 9. Our Barista Brews contain sunflower oil. The oil we use is GMO-free, and sourced from the UK and northern Europe. Cans are 100% recyclable, meaning they’re currently the best option available to us in terms of reducing our carbon emissions. No, but it’s fairer than Fairtrade. That sounds like hot air, but it’s not - and we guarantee a living wage for the coffee farmers we work with. This is because Fairtrade is essentially unable to account for the specialty coffee model, which pays a premium for quality. The specialty trade model we work with is a separate system which guarantees a living wage (not just minimum wage) for coffee farmers.

The only product containing Stevia is our canned Mocha Barista Brew. Stevia is a calorie-free, plant-based sweetener from natural sources which has been used in South America to flavour drinks for more than 200 years.Our oats are sourced from the UK and Northern Europe - we like to keep it as local as possible, but due to the nature of farming cycles and fluctuating availability, we have to switch it up throughout the year. We’re constantly looking to improve our sourcing and minimise our carbon footprint for all our markets globally. We’re partnered with Raw Material, who source green coffee directly with farms all over the world and guarantee a fixed, premium margin for their coffee, regardless of the constantly fluctuating market price. All our products are 100% plant-based, meaning they’re dairy-free, naturally lactose-free, and free from all animal protein. Our Oats are GMO (genetically-modified)-free and our Barista Oat range is Halal. It is also safe to use for a low iodine diet and routinely tested for mycotoxins. We follow very strict requirements to eliminate any contamination, but our products are not certified gluten-free at this time. We recognise the importance of having gluten-free products, and are actively working to make this a reality. We look forward to sharing a GF-certified option in the future. Minor Figures is an independently owned start up. We formed as a company by crowd-funding, and have since grown by partnering with carefully chosen investors, all of whom have a minority share in the company.
