Now as for the rest of it, you'll get nothing. Absolutely nothing from me. Because this is just one of those books that you need to experience totally blind. I thought I was a pretty open minded reader, but this story took me so far out of my comfort zone, I was lost at sea. Drifting in an ocean of emotion so potent, I could practically taste it. But that's also what I loved about this story. The fact that it was unlike anything else I'd ever read. It was one of those books that I will never forget. Ever. And this is coming from someone that barely remembers what she had for breakfast. Puny memory here, people. He didn’t want to feel anything, and instead, he felt everything. We’ve just ruined ourselves with our hate for the other.

This is book #3 of The Underdogs Series, but you can read as a stand-alone. *Formerly published in Team Player 2 but is now a 107k full length novel with an extended epilogue. I struggled with book 1 as it was only told from the female POV and I thought it had a lot of filler. I did like the characters in book 1 but was confused about the "secrets". I was really hoping book 2 would answer all the questions. Though the prologue is set in the present, the rest of the book starts in the past when Cecilia moves to Triple Falls for a year to satisfy an agreement with her estranged father. We end book one with Cecelia meeting with Dom in a parking lot and Sean at work. They are both clearly at war with themselves. They both explain how sorry they are for hurting her and how they did it to protect her. Sean leaves her with these parting words.Meggie fell for a priest. I fell for a prophet. We declared war on their calling and cause, and neither of us won." Cecelia is the A student. The walk the line girl as she has seen what happened when you go wild while young. She is determined not to follow in her mother’s footstep. Now, she has to live one year with her estranged father, work at his plant then she’ll be off to college with a small fortune. Therefore, I am rating Exodus with 5 STARS because I loved how this book made me feel (even though I suffered and cried so much sometimes!) and how Kate build these characters, their stories and their feelings. This is definitely one of my top favorite books of 2020 and I recommend to any romantic suspense fans out there to read this brilliant duet. It’s unique, gripping, twisted and burning with chemistry and emotions. I loved Cecilia and how her story ended. Highly, highly recommend! Main character Dallas fell in love hard. She had never met a guy that she was into like Dean Martin, and it would likely be some time before she found a man that she was that emotionally invested in again. He was the start of her heart opening up, the reason that she started feeling all of these feelings. He was also the reason that her heart would close up and her love would end as soon as it began.

First, I didn’t expect to love it. It’s better to go in blind so I won’t elaborate let’s just say there is a trope I am usually not fond of at all! As I had heard rumors about this, I asked my friend Tracey : “OK, is it true? Because I hate this and that’s so not my cup of tea!”. The chemistry between all the characters are on point and especially Cecelia and her significant other. From the get go I felt it. I was hooked and completely spellbound. For all of my planning and hard work, I never anticipated falling for the coach's daughter. Harper was a fair catch, but who knew loving her could be the one play to throw my career before it started or that the weight of our secret would change the game.⁣Review: Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family by Omid Scobie & Carolyn Durand

The Final Chapter gave some much needed clarity on the first two books and I definitely needed it to start to heal. But everything changes when she meets sexy local Sean on her first day of work. He introduces her to his close knit circle of friends – including the enigmatic Dominic – a group who live by their own rules and brandish the same raven tattoo. The only saving grace to the monotonous life on the factory assembly line day after day is when she meets Sean. The Ravenhood trilogy is a gritty, modern-day take on Robin Hood filled with suspense, thrills, and all the feels. He starts off as the biggest asshole ever, which you already know, I love. Tobias is the kinda guy who makes you forget you ever loved anybody else. He forces Cecelia (h) to question her love for Sean and Dom by their 2nd interaction ever.

a word i never thought would ring sincere coming from his lips. i remain silent, watching him with dear accusation as his expression remains earnest while he pushes the shorts past my thighs, and grips my hand to help me step out of them. slowly, he lifts the hem of my shirt before easing it over my head and leans in pressing a kiss to my bare shoulder as he unclasps my bra, discarding it onto the growing pile on my floor. bare in nothing but my simple cotton panties, i cross my arms over them thankful i opted for a tampon this morning, my cheeks heating before he gently pulls them apart, his eyes gliding down my body in an appreciative sweep. Let's talk about Cecelia for a second, because as many may judge her, I loved her. It's not often you read about such a sex positive heroine that owns her desire and what she wants and I loved her for it. She's a fighter and she's magnificent in her fight. This is a woman that doesn't take things lying down and isn't afraid to rage and fight for what she wants. i honestly love it when this happen in a series. where the girl was engaged to an insta love relationship in book 1 and hated her real love interest in the next one (idk why but hate to love chemistry is always better)

Maxine Mitchell captured Cecelia and her young, questioning ways of adulthood and sexuality with a finesse that was utter perfection. And her French accent for another character was spot on. She made me feel who Cecelia was and everything she was grappling with. From her parents to her life in Triple Falls with a group of men, I got to experience everything through her eyes and it was HAWT!!
