Handle – The handle is an engraved type that does offer much anti-slip. Now if you like the length of the 3-piece traditional but want a little more heft, then you should consider the 3-piece Grande. It's only slightly longer than the traditional 3-piece at 3.8 inches long, but it has 0.6 more ounces in weight for a total weight of 2.8 ounces. We prefer that extra weight. I first tried a shave using the R41 with my bog-standard, middle-of-the-road blade, an “Israeli Personna” (AKA Crystal brand), a blade that I use quite often. I found the razor still very aggressive and I had to be careful of pressure and angle, but I was able to go against the grain without blood (though I did have a small patch of redness in the right side of my chin).This chrome beauty has an open comb design that makes it more aggressive compared to a closed comb. It’ll be able to shave a 3 or 4-day beard growth with fewer passes.

Mühle actually redesigned the R41 in 2013 from their 2011 model. The 2013 model received more weight (although could have used a little more) as well as more height and width. Overall, we are pleased with the length of each of the handles. There's plenty of length and girth to allow you to get a good hold on the handle. On the other hand, if you are looking for a safety razor with a 2-piece design then the Muhle R41 Twist is perfect for you.
