Made from light peated and non-peated malted barley, whiskies distilled in pot stills heated by indirect steam express a signature fruitiness and delicate mouthfeel. Founded in 1934 by Masataka Taketsuru, the brand is headquartered in Tokyo and is the country's second largest distiller. Born into a family of sake brewers hs path into whisky distilling came via a chemistry degree in Glasgow followed by apprenticeships at Scotch Whisky distilleries in the years following the First World War. With a delicate aroma of apples, this expression showcases a beautiful harmony of finesse and sweetness brought by apple brandy casks and Miyagikyo single malt’s original characteristics such as distinctive hints of Sherry and spiciness like cinnamon.
