A remake of The Witcher was announced in October 2022, which was formerly first teased under the codename "Canis Majoris". Entitled The Witcher Remake, it will be developed using Unreal Engine 5, the same engine in use for the planned second trilogy. Fool's Theory will mainly develop the remake with full creative supervision from The Witcher series staff and CD Projekt Red. [65] Film and television [ edit ]

The part when Ciri arrived in the desert was beautifully written. Most of the time the writing is very stiff and boring. Sapkowski's books have been translated into Czech, Russian, Lithuanian, German, Spanish, French, Ukrainian, and Portuguese. An English translation of The Last Wish short story collection was published by Gollancz in 2007. The Witcher is supposed to be a guardian of the innocent, a protector of those in need, a defender against powerful and dangerous monsters that prey on men in dark times. If you’re somebody who likes to know everything that happens as it happens, then you might want to read Season of Storms immediately after The Last Wish. Originally published in 2013 — 14 years after Sapkowski wrapped the saga — Season of Storms contains stories that take place between the stories in The Last Wish, which aren’t necessarily in strict proximity to one another. However, it’s also written after the saga was completed by Sapkowski and contains slight hints about what’s to come, if not outright spoilers. If you’re dying to read the series in strictly chronological terms, it could be worth reading it right after The Last Wish. If you’re the type of person who worries about spoilers though, save it for the end and enjoy it as a retrospective piece.

It’s a conglomeration of short stories that at times seem like have very little bearing on one another. I found it hard to listen at times because it felt like I was listening to the ramblings of a very old person with dementia. The stories were well written and most weren’t bad but there are several narrators, many of whom aren’t even main characters like some old man telling the tales of the Witcher, Ciri, and Yennefer to small kids, or the 2 random sorceresses from the future, or Ciri in another world talking to Lancelot! These narrators are either not interrelated to the plot or are in a minuscule detail that can be hard to catch if you’re not careful.Tylko dla fanów wiedźmina Geralta. Interesting insight into the choices made by the story runners. I think they missed so great stories to tell out of Last Wish, we'll see what the new season brings. I like the Geralt in the books very much and LOVE Dandelion. I think that the TV series hasn't done a good job of reflecting the relationship between them. Dandelion in the books is very competent and more separate and complete than Jaskier in the TV series. Sapkowski, Andrzej (May 22, 2018).
