Forget boring! Dave Strehler’s The Bible Made Easy – for Kids takes readers both young and old on a fun-filled, informative journey to understand the Bible and apply it to their lives.

As children get older, they may want to transition to a study bible, which provides in-depth information about the Bible and helps kids learn how to find specific scriptures on their own. I also want to note that the reading level of this Bible would have been too much (at 6 years old) for two of my kids. For those two, we choose one of the ICB Bibles listed above. HCSB Kid’s Study Bible— For ages 6+ Over and over again, the Bible tells the true story of a holy God who did everything to rescue us from ourselves, to save us from our sin that we might have a relationship with Him and live our lives for His glory. One of our favorites was the jesus storybook bible, which tells the story of the Bible from beginning to end, with each story pointing to Jesus as the main character. The ICB might not be the best Bible option for Scripture memory or the Bible they take with them to college, but it makes a GREAT transition Bible through the elementary years. The biblical narrative focuses primarily on these three sons, as they played significant roles in the early events of human history. Seth's line is particularly emphasized because it is through him that the godly lineage continued, leading to figures such as Noah and eventually to Abraham and the establishment of the Israelite people. Who Were Cain and Abel?

The ICB is actually the Bible I recommend for kids going through our You Already Are devotional journal for kids. If we aren’t given a full picture of God’s character and if our Bibles don’t talk about sin and we are never confronted with our sin, we will never recognize our need for a Savior! Seth: After Abel's death, Adam and Eve had another son named Seth. He is considered to be a righteous line of descendants through whom the godly heritage continued. At other times, our go-to choice is The Child’s Story Bible by Catherine Vos(ours is an updated version of the 1935 original). All of my kids have loved reading these volumes over and over again. The pictures are a little different and keep the kids’ attention, and all of the stories emphasize God as the hero. The Big Picture Story Bible – For ages: 2-7One version for kids is the New International Readers Version (NIRV). This translation simplifies complex scriptures without diluting the profound truths they contain. Another popular choice is the New King James Version (NKJV), which maintains the poetic flow of the KJV while using modern English, making it easier for middle school and tween readers to grasp. The New International Reader’s Version (NIRV) is a great kids Bible translation because it is written at a lower reading level than most other translations, making it more accessible for elementary school-aged children. Additionally, the NIRV includes both the Old Testament and New Testament, as well as helpful illustrations and notes that will help kids understand the Bible stories better.

Quotations from this Bible may be identified in written form with the abbreviation (ICB) in less formal documents, such as bulletins, newsletters, curriculum, media pieces, posters, transparencies, and where space is limited. Quotations of more than one thousand verses must be approved by Thomas Nelson, Inc., in writing in advance of use. Listen! is a collection of scripture readings for children for use in liturgical celebrations and school assemblies, retold from the Bible by A. J. McCallen with illustrations by Ferelith Eccles Williams, and published by Collins Liturgical Publications in 1976. Our Take: It’s a free non-profit app that’s kid safe and helps children to learn God’s Word and begin a lifelong love of reading. Beautiful illustrations come to life on the iPad. Consider it a digital Bible storybook, but don’t forget to make full Bible reading a part of your children’s religious education.First printed in London in 1759, The Children's Bible ( Philadelphia, 1763) was the earliest Bible for children printed in America. [2] Story-Bibles include Christian Gottlob Barth's Bible Stories which was a popular children's Bible in India during the 1840s, Logan Marshall's The Wonder Book of Bible Stories (1904), Arthur S. Maxwell's [3] The Bible Story (1953–57) [4] and The Children's Bible Story Book (1991) a children's version of the Bible by Anne de Graaf placed in United Kingdom primary schools by the charity Bibles for Children (founded 1997). Catherine F. Vos, wife of theologian Geerhardus Vos, was the author of the well known Child's Story Bible (1935). [5]
