Description

All these winding roads lead to one place, on one summer’s night, by which time readers will feel very much part of the Mure community, and these big occasions. Such as: Even your best friend in the world will never call out someone being brutally unkind to you. And seeing people habitually abusing their partners in public (Jan to Charlie) will not prompt anyone to intervene in any way. I WANT MORE! Dus hopelijk komt Colgan toch nog terug op haar beslissing en komt er gewoon nog een 6e deel (of in ieder geval een novelle). But I am convinced that can't really be where some of these characters stories end, one in particular I would love to see more of, even in a spin off, as it's the characters that have taken a spot in my heart since their first introduction.

With no fewer than three weddings on the cards, An Island Wedding, the fifth novel in the series, offers dedicated fans a prime seat at the top table. But fear not if this is your first visit to Mure Island – the book begins with a funny reprise to welcome readers into its world, “ whether you’ve just joined us (welcome!) or whether you have just finished reading all the others”.

Jenny Colgan Press Reviews

Genres: Fiction / Friendship, Fiction / Romance / Contemporary, Fiction / Small Town & Rural, Fiction / Women Such as: People who live and love outside the norm don't get the happy ending (this goes for Lorna, who apparently must never be forgiven for being an independent woman living alone, and Fintan, and both their relationships). Joel is very angry. He and Flora don't talk and finally she says they can postpone the wedding and tell everyone they are waiting until their child Douglas can walk down the aisle. He is not walking yet. Olivia and Anthony are planning A Very Extravagant Wedding at the newest hotel on the tiny Scottish island of Mure. They’re flying in chefs, musicians and something called a living flower wall… and no one is even allowed to think the word bridezilla.Three couples. One midsummer's night. Can everyone get their happy ever after? About This Edition ISBN: Agot is at her bossy best and I loved seeing a bit of development from her, and we get to see a bit more of Jan which was interesting. An unforgettable setting, quirky characters and food for thought are all guaranteed in Sunrise by the Sea. BookReporter.com I wake early, mess about on the internet, get the kids to school, walk the dogs, then settle down with a big sandwich about 11am and plough on through till the afternoon. 2000-2500 words depending on where I am on the schedule. I like to take one of the dogs to a coffee shop. One is well-behaved and one is naughty so the good one gets a lot more outings.

Voor de fans is dit een heerlijk zesde deel. Je kunt je heerlijk verliezen, zult de tijd ongetwijfeld even helemaal uit het oog verliezen en het is fijn om oude bekenden weer eventjes te zien. Dikke aanrader, dus! An Island Wedding is a sweet story about the closeness of small-town life, as well as some of the difficulties. The island of Mure is full of quirky and interesting characters that make for a fun read. Flora and Joel are an adorable couple who are very supportive of each other as they navigate all the issues of planning a wedding on a tiny island where everyone knows everyone. Along with amazing beaches, Barbados offers old-school Colonial architecture, authentic Eastern Caribbean cuisine, lush botanical gardens, and a variety of beautiful resorts. Festivals and events happen during all seasons, making Barbados an excellent option for couples who love to get out and mingle. Antigua The setting on the tiny island of Mure is so much fun. The island and village are well described and it’s just such a nice escape to visit the island and interact with all these fun characters. This is everything I could have wanted from a Jenny Colgan book, it's warm, it has emotion, its funny, its romantic and its downright brilliant. They’re places I know well and absolutely love and I really hope that comes across to the reader. When people get in touch and tell me it feels like they’re there when they read me, that’s a huge compliment. I change the names of towns, though, people hate it if you write about their town and get even a tiny thing wrong! Ash is talking to Argot over the computer from Syria to Scotland but we don't know much. We know he saw his mother but we don't know if they are all living together as a family or anything. Oliva brings her wedding planning entourage to the island and nothing will be the same for Flora. Flora is trying – and failing – not to let Olivia and Anthony’s wedding distract her from planning her own big day with Joel. But the couple have wildly different ideas about how to celebrate and somehow, just when their relationship should be plain sailing, everything is suddenly very hard indeed.
