Description

E = MC Hammer: In the Mr Men Annual No. 3, a worm in Cleverland is seen reading a book. Among the squiggles representing the text, E=mc 2 is visible. Cat Scare: Dr. First gets one with an actual cat, who was rummaging through trash and thus appeared to be a hiding robot, shortly before he discovers Cybermen out and about. It's also similar to a Scary Shadow Fakeout. Alliterative Name: Dale the Dalek (actual name Z403), he of the underpowered energy ray, in Dr. Fourth.

Mr. Strong likes eggs. For supper, he has an egg, followed by another egg, followed by an egg or two. And for pudding, Do you really want to know what happened? he has... ice cream! Ha ha! Retcon: Mr. Snooty is described as the rudest person, though this was changed to "second" rudest once Mr. Rude was added.Mr. Spendy is a very obscure Mr. Men book. Unlike the other Mr. Men and Little Miss books, this book was made and published by somebody other than Roger Hargreaves. It was published by Kathleen Smith. As a result, it's not canon to the actual Mr. Men series. Mr. Mean is the 19th book in the Mr. Men series by Roger Hargreaves. Mr. Mean is a miser who never spends a penny of his money. He is so mean he gives his brother a piece of coal for Christmas. One day a wizard starts disguising himself as a number of people in need. Each time Mr. Mean rejects helping them, a spell is placed on a part of his body, such as his nose turning into a carrot, and his ears turning into tomatoes. He gives help when he realizes his feet are about to fall under a spell. Then he spends his money, and now he gives his brother two pieces of coal for Christmas. Mr. Mean appears under the titles Mr. Stingy (USA), Monsieur Avare (French), Don Tacañete (Spanish), Unser Herr Geizig (German), 구두쇠씨 (Korean), Senhor Cruel (Portuguese), 吝嗇先生 (Taiwan), Ο Κύριος Τσιγκούνης (Greek), Meneertje Gierig (Dutch). He is now a character in The Mr. Men Show, during its second season. He almost looks the same, but his flower and gloves are absent and has a white and red polka-dotted bow tie, his hat is also bent and he has Mr. Rude's nose, only it's red. In the show, Mr. Funny never spoke, and all of his sketches are done in mime and he acts like a clown, his only noises being the sounds of horns and whistles, similar to comedian Harpo Marx. Mr. Lazy is the 17th book in the Mr. Men series by Roger Hargreaves. Mr. Lazy is lazy, he lives in Sleepyland, where there are only four hours a day, as opposed to 24, and it takes two regular hours for water to boil and three regular hours for bread to toast. One day, Mr. Lazy sits down for a nap and is awoken by Mr. Busy and Mr. Bustle. They overwork him, until Mr. Bustle blows a whistle, requiring Mr. Lazy to run as fast as he can. Mr. Lazy runs, but his legs don't get him anywhere because he is sitting on a chair in the garden. He wakes up, realising it was all a dream, and the whistle was the kettle boiling in the kitchen. He sits down to have breakfast, and he goes to sleep yet again only for the events in the dream to really happen.

Mr. Uppity is the 11th book in the Mr. Men series by Roger Hargreaves. Mr. Uppity lives in Bigtown and he is very rich. He is rude to everybody (who call him Miserable old Uppity) until one day he meets a goblin. When he is rude to the goblin, the goblin shrinks Mr. Uppity so he can fit into a hole in a tree, and they enter the tree to meet the King of the Goblins. The goblin agrees to shrink Mr. Uppity if he is rude to somebody. This happens until Mr. Uppity is nice. In the end, he's still rich, but now he's very popular. He most frequently uses the words, "Please" and "Thank you." At the end of the book, Hargreaves tells the readers: "Thank you for reading this story, and if you're ever thinking about being rude to somebody, please keep a sharp lookout for goblins." Mr. Clever and Little Miss Star host a show called The Misterland Breakfast Chat. It's a news show where they tell about what's happening in Misterland. They start talking about how exciting Christmas is. But then there was an emergency broadcast from Mr. Nosey. He said that Miseryland was not excited about Christmas. Even worse was that the queen had a horrible plan to ruin Christmas. She told her knights that they had to go to The North Pole and steal presents at Father Christmas's workshop and tied up him, Mr. Snow, and the elves. So Mr. Impossible, Little Miss Magic, Mr. Rush, Mr. Strong and Mr. Busy had to go and save Christmas. Soon Miss Magic started to wave her wand and made everything run at double speed. Then the new batch of toys was finished. Just as they finished, the Miseryland knights (who got lost in a snowstorm) returned with the original batch of toys. Seeing the happy ending go on at the North Pole, everyone at The Misterland Breakfast Chat wishes everyone a Merry Christmas. Long List: Discussed in Dr. Fourth: "In fact, the list of things Daleks can't do is long, but not as long as the list of things that Daleks don't like." This is because the only thing they like is "exterminating things". Mr. Messy is the 8th book in the Mr. Men series by Roger Hargreaves. Mr. Messy is pink and really messy but has a really nice smile. Mr. Messy lives in a messy house until Mr. Neat and Mr. Tidy come to clean his house and give him a bath (his first ever, as the bathroom had previously been the messiest of the house). He becomes neat and thinks he has to change his name. Mr. Messy then becomes clean. Pet the Dog: The aforementioned characters in Jerkass above are not above a moment of compassion every once in a while.

Mr. Men Christmas Special

One-Steve Limit: Averted. When Mr. Lazy dreams he is forced to work by two men named Mr. Busy and Mr. Bustle, the former is definitely not the Mr. Busy who has his own book. The '60s: Dr. First is subtly set during this era, since that was when the show launched. The First Doctor turns up his nose at some ridiculously dressed hippies as he searches for Susan.

Downplayed for Dr. Twelfth; he doesn't appreciate being called "old and slow" by Missy both because it's stating the obvious to call him old (at that point he'd been around for 2,000+ years) and because she's one to talk about that. But his grumpiness is also attributable to the trouble he's having catching her and missing lunch in the process. When She Smiles: Mr. Grumpy in the aforementioned Road Trip book. During his trip across the United States with the other characters, he does nothing but complain. At the end of the book, he admits he had a good time because being grumpy makes him happy, causing him to break out in a happy smile. Miseryland is ruled by a King, not a Queen as said in Little Miss Sunshine. In addition, Miseryland had been renamed to Laughter Land, unless of course, the Queen is still as miserable as her husband before.Mr. Bump cannot do anything without something getting lost or damaged. He smashes three windows of his house with a ladder when trying to repair his chimney pot before it falls off, and he cannot hold down a steady job because of his accident-prone nature. Mr. Dizzy lives in Cleverland, where everyone makes fun of him. He drinks some magical water and becomes the smartest man of all. Christmas Episode: Dr. Tenth — Christmas Surprise!, a hardcover installment featuring him and Donna Noble that was released a few months prior to his main series book.
