A technological breakthrough in flour production meant that bakers would no longer need to sieve their flour. Commonly known as booklice, little is known about the origin of psocids, but it’s been established that their presence is not due to poor hygiene but to favourable environmental conditions. I also like the fact that it has it's own storage container which I recycle, so much better than split bags in the cupboard.

Our Superior Sponge Flour is perfect for creating those extra special bakes such as a classic Viennese sponge. While there isn’t currently a Homepride recipe book available, you can view a fantastic selection of recipes here. Some of the questions we are asked most frequently are answered below but remember, you can get a quick answer to questions on social media – Homepride are now on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram. They milled plain flour and packed it in enormous 280lb sacks which they sold on to local bakers and merchants. Each of the components of our pack are recyclable but do check your local council’s recycling policy.
