In a world where everyone and everything is connected, there’s an abundance of possibilities. Opportunity is everywhere, but that can make it hard to find your own path, let alone excel at what you do. Only when we know ourselves can we know what we are looking for. One form of leverage is labor—other humans working for you. It is the oldest form of leverage, and actually not a great one in the modern world.” Increase serotonin in the brain without drugs: Sunlight, exercise, positive thinking, and tryptophan. Figure out the point of maximum leverage to actually create wealth and capture some of that created wealth. The one I found works best for me is called Choiceless Awareness, or Nonjudgmental Awareness. As you’re going about your daily business (hopefully, there’s some nature) and you’re not talking to anybody else, you practice learning to accept the moment you’re in without making judgments. You don’t think, “Oh, there’s a homeless guy over there, better cross the street” or look at someone running by and say, “He’s out of shape, and I’m in better shape than him.”

A personal metric: how much of the day is spent doing things out of obligation rather than out of interest? The reality is life is a single-player game. You’re born alone. You’re going to die alone. All of your interpretations are alone. All your memories are alone. You’re gone in three generations, and nobody cares. Before you showed up, nobody cared. It’s all single player.” I think of happiness as an emergent property of peace. If you’re peaceful inside and out, that will eventually result in happiness.” Here, I’ve collected four of the most impactful things I learned while writing this book in my own words.

The ability to singularly focus is related to the ability to lose yourself and be present, happy, and (ironically) more effective.” Society, business, & money are downstream of technology, which is itself downstream of science. Science applied is the engine of humanity.“ Successful people worldwide are viewed as reliable and trustworthy. When they are recommended by their peers, their network grows. Once they prove what they’re worth, their value grows in the network. In other words, they use the compound rule to build their reputation and integrity. Lesson 2: Money is the ultimate tool for freedom.

Don’t be the person who says that money is the root of all evil, that you don’t need them to be happy, or that you’re not interested in building wealth. Sure, these affirmations are true, up to a certain point. However, many use them to justify not growing their mindset and accepting the status-quo in their life. Truth be told, money is a great thing to have, especially if you know how to use it. You have to figure out how to scale it because if you only build one, that’s not enough. You’ve got to build thousands, or hundreds of thousands, or millions, or billions of them so everybody can have one.” The final form of leverage is brand new—the most democratic form. It is: ‘products with no marginal cost of replication.’ This includes books, media, movies, and code. Code is probably the most powerful form of permissionless leverage. All you need is a computer—you don’t need anyone’s permission.” The 25-year-old person who wants to advance in their career without losing sight of their true persona, the 30-year-old entrepreneur who wants to find a balance between their work and what matters to them in their personal life, or the 40-year-old life coach who wants to expand their knowledge in the field and offer better advice.
