It’s revealed after Michael is found that he works as a launch support engineer for Hyperion, the company running the mission to Mars. All aboard the steamship RMS Glorious for a wonderful adventure as the great ship glides across the Atlantic from Liverpool to New York City. Having managed to gain access to a master key for the ship, the girls are free to explore their surroundings, from the first-class decks through the kitchens and into the engine rooms. Stowaway follows a small crew of space travelers on a two-year mission to Mars that immediately goes off the rails when they discover Michael is aboard the ship.

Now, without further insight, we don’t know how much Arctic was retooled once the trilogy concept was abandoned. Zoe manages to fill one of the oxygen canisters but is forced to leave the other behind in the middle of filling it. Although retired, she continues to work with schools to support the embedding of reading for pleasure practices. And this is where her life becomes even more adventurous than she could have imagined, or even wished for: for this is where she became the accidental stowaway on the RMS Glorious. They were many layered, like wedding cakes, with at least eight decks, stretching from the super luxurious upper decks, with cafes and restaurants and orchestras , down to the very bottom decks, where the stokers toiled day and night , feeding the fiery furnaces with coal to keep the engines going.

I feel the author sometimes fell into cliches and the plot twists were pretty predictable but, overall, I still had a pretty good time reading the book. However, there isn’t enough fuel for the crew to turn around and must continue their mission but it quickly becomes clear that there aren’t enough resources for everyone onboard. Although in places the narrative loses its rhythm, and cadences of authentic dialogue, Eagle has created a generally well-paced and exciting story that is full of surprises and a strong cast of supporting characters. In May, Shamier Anderson was cast as the titular stowaway, and Daniel Dae Kim joined as the ship's biologist.
