My first oud experience was with Al-Rehab fragrances and Montale line. I think Montale creates the most beautiful ouds, not for todays trends and not to please European audience. Montale just plays with oud combining it with different elements, he has so many absolutely different ouds that are still ouds. His approach is experimental and artistic, I absolutely adore his creations. Montale is the king in this field. This is more of a smooth suede woody fragrance. There is a subtle and smooth-as-silk leather/suede note in this fragrance at the heart. It's there from the spray until it becomes a skin scent. Now...I am not someone that likes "Leather" notes with the exception of two fragrances.... I bought this out of curiosity after reading the comments, and liking SWY Leather only not having a bottle any longer - nor will I pay the ludicrous resale prices.

Ooookay...the bottle is here!! I received the fragrance today and I have to say...it's DEFINITELY not like the original Oud 24hrs in any way c-o-m-p-l-e-t-e-l-y !!! There are literally no other notes in this frag that exist past the 3-minute mark. I get maybe a little lavender-smelling something in the first 3 minutes of the fragrance...after that it's cinnamon-leather until I take a shower to get this mess off me. Beautiful scent, honestly I haven't smelled any leather thus far but it is a beautiful and must have. I will let it sit.I just can't get any performance out of this fragrance. Even soaking myself with 20 sprays only yields a skin-scent of leather...leaving me smelling like some kinda leather-wearing old biker dude or a BDSM gimp that just finished a suit-session. |Midnight Oud eau de parfum is one of the famous and popular perfume by world renowned perfume producer Ard al Zaafaran. It comes in an amazing design with beautiful glass bottle. A well-presented oil in an amazing blue bottle. perfect for a gift. It can be a very nice and beautiful gift box, it can also be a very nice personal collection. It’s pretty easy to find SWY Leather where I’m from so this is, for me half of that and half of Intensely. For me it's quite gourmand as it goes to the drydown, more like a Tonka-vanilla combination with animalic notes (which most of it is ambroxan, some musk, i get some leathery notes) and a woody base. You have to wait about 20 minutes for the DNA of this fragrance to reveal itself, and it is unquestionably a take on the Stronger With You line. As mentioned by many others below, it is similar to both SWY Leather and the Oud edition. In fact I'd say closer to the former as you will get passing wafts of leather, but definitely oud, too. Sweet, gourmand, it should be worn on colder days. Lasts at least 12 hours on me, and you will smell it throughout the wear.

Unless Ard Al Zaafaran keep adjusting the composition of ingredients from batch to batch, I can't understand the comparisons to such a broad spectrum of, in some cases, vastly different fragrances altogether. Bogart Pour Homme? Really? Poles apart to my nose but hey it's all subjective. Personally, I agree there are echoes of Stronger with You Leather but also Stronger With You Only although the Chestnut and Elemi take them in their own direction. I also get echoes of Bond No. 9 Andy Warhol but again not in a like-for-like sense, just a slight similarity. Having just bought this and worn it for a few days now (perfect weather in the UK just now - Spring Snow :o) ) I get dry, powdery, citrus, Oud and a hint of Vanilla. It's not unpleasant but I'm not leaping to celebrate it either. It's a bit weird. A sort of Jekyll & Hyde it's like two quirky personalities spliced together in the same bottle - sweet, fruity, fresh citrus aromatic for one and the other a dry, earthy (patchouli), woody (Oud) oriental. It kinda works but also kinda doesn't. I shall live with it a bit longer and see if it improves with some more time to macerate in the bottle and a dark cupboard. This is blind buy safe for sure, very mass appealing. This fragrance is absolutely smooth, low-key but attention grabbing, slightly comforting and yet very powerful in it's stance. This is one of those fragrances you wear when you've got your stuff together and you aren't looking for attention or to offend anyone....but just to smell great! I haven't smell SWY leather.. oud in here is smooth not overpower... It syntethic and screechy? Yes, but only in the first 10-15 minutes... after that, it just done beautifully...
