In chapter 40, Feyre tells Rhysand that this is how The Bone Carver appears to her. and she uses her Daemati powers to show them what their son would look like. Chapter 69 of A Court of Wings and Ruin I trembled and my heart failed within me, when, on looking up, I saw by the light of the moon the dæmon at the casement. A ghastly grin wrinkled his lips as he gazed on me, where I sat fulfilling the task which he had allotted to me. Yes, he had followed me in my travels; he had loitered in forests, hid himself in caves, or taken refuge in wide and desert heaths; and he now came to mark my progress and claim the fulfilment of my promise.

Search in the LORD's book of living creatures and read what it says. Not one of these creatures will be missing, and not one will be without its mate. The LORD has commanded it to be so; he himself will bring them together. On their wedding day, Feyre cries out in her mind for someone to save her and this is the very moment Rhys decides to act on their bargain from the previous novel. Heather does redeem herself by the end of the story by showing remorse after her prejudice almost ruins her own brother’s mating (see push/pull) and offering Adley a genuine apology for her behavior. She even gifts her brother and his mate with family heirloom rings to get married with, something she considered Adley might want since it’s a human tradition.

The relationships of each guy to Bella was interesting. Each guy was super nice, attentive and sweet. Overly to the point that it sometimes felt like they were servants instead of mates/lovers. Right from the beginning, some lines from the guys POV's involved saying she was frightening them or that they were worried about certain things. Even comments about she seemed to be enjoying killing, but nothing came of it. I expected it to at least be something that came up (outside of in their own heads), some sort of issue they'd have to overcome. It never really happened..

Belladonna and her mates had to overcome dangerous obstacles and uncover disloyalty amongst the Nobles. Someone is trying to prevent Belladonna from ascending the throne. Those who were considered Allies turned out to be Foes and the ones deemed Foes proved to be Allies. First off, we begin with Feyre feeding Rhys. This is not a euphemism; she straight up gives him a bowl of soup. But for the Fae, feeding your mate is apparently a big deal! The final time Feyre leaves Tamlin and the Spring Court is in chapter 12 of A Court of Mist and Fury, when Tamlin uses magic to trap Feyre in the house and Mor rescues her. I'm referring to Heather, Lukes sister, the issues her characters brought to the forefront is not a likeable one when dealing with shifter worlds created to included human mates, and when the author make that world have rules that are "shifter-specific" ie. After mates being a 100% solid firefly with no room for debate wether the shifter of the pair has any control over whether they can have a choice ; because in this world shifters are not only unable to deny their fated mate once they find them, but also they never desire another ( so far as they don't even experience sexual arousal until meeting their fated...) Where as the humans in a world created with these rules established , most often grow not experiencing desire ever for another, but because they aren't a shifter, ( and as such in this authors world, are sometimes even TOTALLY UNAWARE OF SHIFTERS EXISTENCE) they grow up either feeling out of place their whole life thinking there is something wrong with themselves ( in the cases shifters aren't known to be real yet) or in others, feel inadequate wishing they were guaranteed a fated mate with the knowledge they exist for every shifter, but also a subconscious uncertainty because that killed isn't always the blessing considering it comes with knowing that they aren't guaranteed that which they see exists, ( it's an ingesting catch 22 that this story highlighting these point with an exceptionally awesome story line and also made it better than the oth e in some ways ironically because of that conflict... Feyre is an actual lady boss in the court, both on the battlefield and off. She kills a bunch of Hybrun’s army and gets revenge on her ex-love!

She fell in love with the High Lord of the Spring Court in A Court of Thorns and Roses, and though falling in love with him is able to break the curse Amarantha placed over Prythian. And I decided that I had to scare Tamlin. I had to scare you, and Lucien, but mostly Tamlin. Because I saw how he looked at you, too.’” In the same chapter, Rhys visits Feyre in her cell. This is one of my personal favorite early Rhysand and Feyre moments. I loved how Bella overcame over the adversity against her, how her father got his just rewards, how she got her first two mates. They were amazing and I loved how their love grew and how those challenges happened. I was wondering what happened to Ari all of a sudden, she just disappeared never to be heard from. I enjoyed Caiden’s family, Hollis’ kingdom was different but also I enjoyed it. I was so engrossed in this storyline and the pacing was great. Then we got to the water kingdom and things shifted. Suddenly things weren’t really explained, random twists/info was dropped on us and it made me feel jostled (the previous kingdoms the plot and execution was smooth in terms of the writing and it fit the style I like, but the 2nd half was a different story). I understand the twist when it came to the mate and the tension and battles that ensued. I had no issues with that, I appreciated the plot twist, but Bella started acting different. things that weren’t consistent with her previously. I love Sebastian and feel like we didnt get enough time to get to know him, based on the circumstances. I usually am not a huge fan of standalones with this many guys in the harem with this type of epic plot because you sometimes don’t get enough time with the relationship building and I think that happened for our adorable water mater. Now, things went off the handle once we got to the fire kingdom. The whole point of not going there first was to create stability for Bella and her harem. It felt like the author forgot this and everything went to the type of mate the fire mate was and all things were about him and the others were thrown to the wayside. Also Bella became an unlikable character for me. She was supposed to defend Caiden and how much she loved him but she was like...they won’t understand I love Egon more and he is the one for me. Like that isn’t the point of RH, where 1 is more important than the others. If I had known this I probably wouldn’t have read this. The last couple hours were a chore to listen to because I felt so bad for the guys who I had already fallen for. I think his would have been better as M/F with just Bella and her fire mage to be honest, with how this author wrote it. She pretty much used them for their powers and then couldnt stop touting how much of a king Egon was and how perfect he was for her. Sorry for being honest, I just was confused and felt let down by this the rest of the book was executed compared to how amazing it was in the beginning. I will probably give this author another chance because this one had so much potential and the first half of this book was fabulous, I just will be keeping levelheaded and be ready for what she did here to happen again, just so I am not disappointed again like I was here. I did love another audiobook of this authors, and I hope more of it comes to audio so I can continue that storyline, but this one just didnt hit the mark for me overall. I almost told you then, but…You were so sad. And tired. And for once, you look at me like… like I was worth something.’”

There are mention of pop culture, but how FMC would know about it while living in graveyard. She definitly didn't have a tv in there, and she was close to feral. While this strange dialogue continued, I perceived the crowd rapidly increase. Their faces expressed a mixture of curiosity and anger, which annoyed and in some degree alarmed me. I inquired the way to the inn, but no one replied. I then moved forward, and a murmuring sound arose from the crowd as they followed and surrounded me, when an ill-looking man approaching tapped me on the shoulder and said, "Come, sir, you must follow me to Mr. Kirwin's to give an account of yourself." All was again silent, but his words rang in my ears. I burned with rage to pursue the murderer of my peace and precipitate him into the ocean. I walked up and down my room hastily and perturbed, while my imagination conjured up a thousand images to torment and sting me. Why had I not followed him and closed with him in mortal strife? But I had suffered him to depart, and he had directed his course towards the mainland. I shuddered to think who might be the next victim sacrificed to his insatiate revenge. And then I thought again of his words—" I will be with you on your wedding-night." That, then, was the period fixed for the fulfilment of my destiny. In that hour I should die and at once satisfy and extinguish his malice. The prospect did not move me to fear; yet when I thought of my beloved Elizabeth, of her tears and endless sorrow, when she should find her lover so barbarously snatched from her, tears, the first I had shed for many months, streamed from my eyes, and I resolved not to fall before my enemy without a bitter struggle. The majority of this book is following up on post-war rebuilding and the foreshadowing that the Valeris house is too small.I am really living for all the telekinetic mating bond secret conversations… they’re just so romantic right?! The timeline completely baffled me. What I thought was maybe a couple weeks worth of collecting her mates was actually months? How? They traveled by SUV's and limos, and only once had to use their wolf forms to get to the next kingdom and it wasn't for very long since they were close by after the accident. The challenges were made out to be only a day or two long and then the claiming ceremonies right after, so when she gets to the fire kingdom, and it's mentioned that she and Kaedyn have been on this journey together for five months, it seemed really wonky. The plot despite the fact that it was nice has lots of plot holes as well and we were left with many things still unresolved.

Praying mantises at all stages of life may cannibalize other members of their own species. They are opportunistic feeders who will eat anything they can catch, including their mates.

During the time she spends with Rhys in the Night Court, she slowly begins to heal which eventually leads to her leaving Tamlin and joining the Night Court. Feyre is not only High Fae now but has also been gifted power from each of the courts.
