I will give you everything you need to learn how to create beautiful Baby Hand & Feet Casts, market them and run a successful Baby Casting Business. Moreover, you can elevate your plaster hand and foot molds by upgrading to cold-cast metal and faux glass resin finishes, creating stunning and enduring keepsakes. Professional hand and feet casting involves crafting molds of the model's hands and feet. Alginate and clay are commonly used materials for this purpose. The mold is allowed to cure before delicately removing it from the model's hands and feet. Before proceeding to the casting step, it's crucial to inspect the molds for any defects or holes. Using the correct hand-casting materials is paramount to achieve the best results. The plaster mix is a ratio of 2 parts plaster to 1 part water. Plenty of plaster is provided in our kits along with instructions. The plaster should be a nice smooth and runny consistency, so that it can get into all of the little nooks and crannies of alginate mould. Before you pour the plaster into the mould, tap the sides of the mixing bowl to bring any air bubbles in the plaster mix up to the top. Finishing and painting techniques: What do you seal hand castings with? What is the best colour for hand casting? (Including how to create a patina to highlight all of the fine detail of your baby's hand and feet castings).

You have up to 1 minute and 55 seconds of mixing time – keep mixing until you have a smooth consistency. At this stage the mixture will be pink. Our handmade, top quality deep shadow box display frames and plinth stand make the perfect display for your hand and foot cast, wedding flowers, your keepsakes and other memorabilia and art. Clean out the mixing bowl you used for the alginate mix, ensure it's perfectly clean and dry before working with the plaster mix. Leave the plaster casts for at least 5-7 days to completely dry out before painting them. If you paint them before they’re thoroughly dry, the paint won’t adhere to the casts - the paint will just disappear into the plaster cast... From the mould and intricate detail of each hand and foot cast to the top quality styling and frame choices, When looked after, your final unique keepsake will stand the test of time.
