The report states that a GTA Remastered Trilogy is nearing the end of development, with Switch being a supported platform along with other consoles, PC and even mobile. The games included are Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, with the remaster project using a mix of new and old assets through Unreal Engine. The second major issue that we had at launch involved an awful draw distance combined with vehicles that would materialise out of nowhere, making driving feel like a real chore. Add some serious scenery pop-in to this mix and you had a visual mess to contend with. Also I’d love a follow up like a month after the physical versions drop. I wanna know what one sells the best in the long run across the consoles since they all came out the same day. The resolution is well below 720p, it's been smeared with some sort of after effect that makes things even worse, the default picture settings are awful and the stuttering and jankiness is plain to see" The only problem with this game was bad marketing. This game is literally the same as the originals with all the same bugs and glitches. Ridiculously high expectations ruined this game.

The Trilogy will include GTA 3, GTA: Vice City, and GTA: San Andreas, and will feature improved graphics and modern gameplay enhancements while keeping the "classic look and feel" of the original games. And, yeah, maybe don't release it in any "official" capacity. And definitely don't ask any money for it. I don't see why GTA IV & EFLC couldn't. The Switch is perfectly capable of handling GTA IV and EFLC (but not GTA V)

As I commented on the other article. Pop in is not a legitimate issue and would totally change the game. These old games have really small maps with vehicles that only spawn in really small areas. If vehicles popped in early it would make import/export almost impossible to complete as you would have to travel half way across the map to despawn cars you don't need. I get that it is an issue for some people but it's one thing I'm glad they didn't mess with and I guarantee that if they did change it, it would be included as an issue anyway when people post about how these missions are now impossible. That is one problem that no matter what they do there would have been complaints so I'm glad they just kept it like the original. I might get it for PS5 too for 4K HDR and hopefully supports HD Triggers HD shoulder buttons. But it would need to offer more than Switch. VR mode would be acceptable. There are so many amazing games out there and I just feel the cancel culture of the world is spilling over into gaming now based on flaws on the surface without digging in. Seriously you are all spoiled. My expectations were how the videos looks basically. It looks like gta on a switch… not gta on PS5. And for those interested in the half-assed "physical" release, you're looking at about 12.1GB in "updates". 1GB for GTAIII, 5GB for Vice City (which is unplayable without), and 6.1GB for San Andreas. The latter is particularly ironic, because the "update" alone is bigger than the entirety of Vice City (how?). Also I’d guess most things get ironed out by the time the physicals drop…. Digital are the test subjects before the physical drops I’m sure. 3 massive games in one game in who knows how long they have been working on it. Say since the switch came out for fun. That’s still not long for something of this size.Again, this is all stuff that should never have been a problem in the first place but, if we're to let bygones be bygones, combining these small wins with the frame rate and pacing improvements you've got an experience that is much improved over the dog's dinner we first sat down to. These improvements apply to all three games, although in terms of slight stutters and blurry effects, San Andreas does still chug here and there. Once again, as of patch 1.06, most of these issues have been improved, if not fixed entirely. The draw distance is better, the pop-in is nowhere near as bad, and the materialising cars, although still very much present, at least have the decency to appear out of nowhere slightly further down the road.

The release dates for the physical versions of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition have changed. With three great GTA great there's still fun to be had at points here if you can deal with the problems But it’s not just a criminally low resolution that Switch players have to stomach in Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition. The game’s performance is – to put it lightly – unacceptable. Playing GTA on a dedicated handheld again has been a distant dream ever since the PSP releases of GTA: Liberty City Stories and GTA: Vice City Stories 2005. The Switch should have been the perfect platform to realize those halcyon days, with improved performance and graphics to boot. Instead, we’ve been given shoddy ports that either shouldn’t have been released on Nintendo’s platform or delayed until performance could be significantly improved. The poor reception of the Trilogy DE might be a reason behind that decision. #GTAIV #RDR1— Tez2 (@TezFunz2) July 4, 2022

Both are good. Ones film quality and visual effects out dated but it’s still good and enjoyable to watch. Now that is not to say that the PS2 version was not fun and that the remasters would not also be fun if they ran at least as well as the PS2 version. But that is not what we are told we are buying and so any criticisms of how it falls short of what we were promised remain valid. Would it be worth a 4/10 if it were on par with the PS2 version (which the review contends that it is not anyway)? That I don't know. Maybe more a 6-7/10 on account of the broken promises but I'm not sure. We had to pause and turn the brightness level to max then reduce the contrast to zero just to make the picture look acceptable first of all.."

The game has been scaled down just to run on the Switch as opposed to being optimized for the best possible experience on Switch. Saints Row 3 looks crispier on the this console. I'd still say 6.5/10 not 4. But then I have hardly given an hour to each game. This isn't entirely new news — we saw a leak earlier this year that seemed to imply that we'd be seeing a remastered trilogy on Switch — but still, it's nice to have it confirmed. Driving through the streets in all three games is a nightmarish and sluggish experience as the framerate fluctuates wildly, dropping into the low twenties. GTA: San Andreas seems to have the best performance of the bunch, but it still can’t hold its target framerate for very long. Can't you run GTA IV on PC? That's strange, every modern PC should be able to run it at least at 720p low settings! Yes, we're talking about one of the worst PC ports ever made, but it's still a 10-years-old game. I've just upgraded my old GTX 970 to a new RTX 2060 and I'm finally able to run GTA IV in 1440p at max settings (including the draw distance) at a constant 60FPS. Surely you don't have the power of a RTX 2060, but even with a modern integrated graphics card you should obtain some decent results. I miss the fun physics and the hustle and bustle of Liberty City. I couldn't play it anymore as I sold off my PS3 and The GTA Trilogy will release later this year. We'll update you when we have a more exact release date!
