THEC64 is the sequel to the super popular C64 Mini. A lot of people refer to this model as THE C64 MAXI Topped off with the recently released shoot 'em up galencia and text adventure planet of death to let you relive the glory days of true keyboard gaming;

Music synthesis was performed by a special sound interface chip. Sound envelope could be controlled on all three voices on a full nine octave of each. It was one of the first computers to offer both a high quality sound chip and graphic resolution with many colors and sprites. It was also later released as a dedicated C64 Games System, although the Commodore Amiga attained greater popularity with games players. During the Commodore 64's lifetime, sales totalled 17 million units, making it the best-selling single personal computer model of all time - although in the UK, the ZX Spectrum gained more early adopters, as it was half the cost of the Commodore machine - as a result less software was produced for the Commodore 64, even though it eventually outsold the ZX Spectrum.Some later versions of the Commodore 64 were released, most notably the Educator 64 (a C64 and monochrome monitor in a PET case) and the SX-64 (a portable version of the Commodore 64 complete with 5 inch CRT monitor and in-built floppy disk drive). USB ports replace the old serial bus and proprietary I/O ports, which means you can load up your own games and programs. If you're so inclined, you can write your own programs in Commodore BASIC, just like the real thing. Here's a little example:

In 1984 Commodore International introduced The Commodore SX-64, also known as the "Executive 64" or "SX-100" in some regions. The SX-64 was essentially a portable version of the Commodore 64, and featured a built-in 5-inch color cathode-ray tube (CRT) display, keyboard, and a 1541-compatible floppy disk drive on the side. The Commodore 64 also featured advanced graphics and sound with 16 colours, with sprites controlled by hardware. A special version called Educator 64 or PET64 or CBM 4064 was proposed for schools and uses the PET case. Commodore produced the first generation of C64s until May 1986, then it was discontinued and they introduced the C64C. According to the 64'er magazine, this version has been planned since the Hannover Fair in 1985, but as the old version sold so well during Christmas '85, its release date was delayed. The Commodore 64 was released by Commodore Business Machines in 1982. Although an 8 bit computer, unlike its main competitor (the Sinclair ZX Spectrum) the Commodore 64 was based on an MOS Technology 6510 chip and came with 64K of memory.
