Depending on the country you live in, you may find the Q930B or Q910B series, but it’s essentially the same soundbar with the same features. Connect your compatible TV without the mess of wires thanks to Bluetooth. And you can stream your top tunes from your Bluetooth smart device too. Or connect by HDMI eARC (audio return channel) to receive the full resolution audio signal from the TV with no degradation. With a premium metal finish and low profile, its acoustic silhouette fits in beautifully with your home entertainment set up (and is an ideal match with a Samsung QLED TV). The Q930B does make a pretty good on-paper case for its price, though. Not least with its provision of a genuine 9.1.4 channels of Dolby Atmos-friendly sound, which includes a substantial wireless subwoofer and two real rather than virtual rear speakers.

The Samsung HW-Q930B has an incredible selection of sound enhancement features. This premium bar gives you access to most of Samsung's customization tools, including a 7-band graphic EQ and EQ presets like 'Standard', 'Surround Sound', 'Game', and 'Adaptive Sound'. Using the Settings button on the remote, you have a dialogue enhancement tool called Voice Enhance as well as a night mode feature to balance the volume level between different programs and commercials. Like most premium bars, it has a room correction feature to optimize the soundbar's output based on your room's acoustics— it's called SpaceFit Sound. Compared to the Samsung HW-Q990B, there's no Auto EQ; however, this feature only adjusts the subwoofer's output, so you may not find it's worth the extra cost.As with the Q990B, the balance and consistency of the Q930B’s sound seems to benefit from the built-in Space Fit auto calibration system. Certainly, after running the Space Fit utility, no individual channel sounded either under- or over-represented in a movie mix. The Q930B loses an HDMI input versus the Q990B, reducing connectivity to a single HDMI input, plus an HDMI output (that also supports HDMI’s eARC feature for receiving sound from compatible TVs), and an optical digital audio input. The Q930B is equipped with built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, as you would expect, and even lets you connect recent Samsung Galaxy phones to it just by tapping them against the soundbar’s bodywork. The wireless capabilities have been extended, too, for 2022 to include wireless Dolby Atmos streaming from compatible Samsung TVs. Note, though, that the wireless Atmos system supports the compressed DD+ version of Dolby Atmos rather than the ‘lossless’ True HD version of Dolby Atmos you can get via eARC or the HDMI loopthrough. It’s not just the addition of rear speakers that makes the Q930B far and away Samsung’s best sub-four-figure soundbar to date, though. Also key is the way Samsung has actually designed the Q930B seemingly from scratch to be a unified, balanced system, rather than just cobbling together disparate elements from various parts of its soundbar range. Adaptive Sound assesses what you're watching and optimises each scene with AI sound. So feel like you’re in the stadium when watching live sport, be immersed in thrilling action sequences, or hear gentle dialogue with crystal clarity.

Adaptive Sound ensures the content you are watching will always sound its best with each scene optimised by AI Sound. Watching sport, you'll feel as if you're in the stadium, or a movie, you hear the action closing in from all directions. Whether the director’s intent is to make you feel like part of the crowd or if you are required to feel like you are centre stage, the Q930B will be sure to fulfil. Both of these rear speakers, moreover, are equipped with two separate drivers: one facing out of the rear speakers’ front edges, but also one firing up out of each rear speaker’s top edge. The upfirers are there to deliver the overhead sound effects associated with Dolby Atmos audio mixes. If you have a Samsung TV from 2021 compatible with Q-Symphony you can also use it, but it will not play all the speakers but only the top ones. It is capable of reproducing surround sound by having a 9.1.4 channel system and being Dolby Atmos compatible. The experience is quite spectacular and you can appreciate quite realistic overhead sounds.
