Description

With the printing plates of the Ender 5 models, you usually only need a skirt to stimulate the filament flow with a few printed lines around the printed object. The proprietary software features two different print modes, the fast print mode and the full configuration one. The second mode gives you more control over the printing settings but also requires a deeper knowledge of printing materials, profiles, and more.

When the printer boots you may see the TH3D logo on your LCD, printers with low-end CPUs may not show a TH3D logo but all will show a Marlin screen with TH3D Studio showing on the version information. Reset your EEPROM! #The CR-M4 also includes Creality's network and cloud printing capability, which means you can monitor and control the printer remotely from a phone or computer. You also have the option of storing gcode files on a USB flash drive rather than the microSD card used by most other Creality 3D printers. While we don't think these features are necessary for a good 3D printing experience, they certainly make the printer more convenient to use, especially in a print farm environment. We highly recommend the Creality Ender 3 V3 SE and feel that it offers excellent value for its price. We currently consider this to be the baseline Creality 3D printer and recommend it over older printers such as the Ender 3 Neo due to its improved feature set. One attribute that is unique to the Ender 5 Pro 3D Printer is the new V4.2.2 silent Mainboard with TMC2208 drivers, allowing for quieter and more precise printing performance. This mainboard has both Marlin 1.1.8 and Bootloader installed and also has thermal runway protection enabled, providing additional protection in case the printer reaches erratically high temperatures.

The Ender 5 Pro is ever so slightly more suited to more temperature-sensitive materials like nylon that require hotter nozzle temperature to print well. As for the hot ends, you’ll find the same typical Creality parts on both machines, fed filament through a standard PTFE tube (Capricorn branded on the Ender 5 Pro) and frame-mounted extruder in normal Bowden style. Once you locate the .bin file for your board copy this to your SD card. This SD card MUST be formatted with FAT or FAT32 file system and most boards prefer a 4096 allocation byte size. Smaller cards (16GB or less) are better to use than larger ones for the best compatibility. If you have multiple .bin files listed, choose the one with the latest time & date on it. Updated mainboard - includes modern features like silent motor drivers and power outage recovery, which were not present on the original Ender 3 If you print the first few layers more slowly, you give the liquid filament more time to bind to the substrate. The slower you print the first layers, the better the print bed adhesion will be. A good value is about half the normal print speed. While the printer is also able to print a single part continuously with no interaction, we have found that the limitations of the 45 degree angle made it so only certain parts with specific geometry were viable to produce. Based on this, we feel that the printer is best suited for applications for very long prints (such as cosplay weapons or long functional parts), which would not be possible at all with other machines.

On the specifications side, the Ender 3 V2 features a silent 32-bit motherboard, TMC2208 stepper motor drivers, and a tempered carborundum glass platform, a big adhesion upgrade over previous Ender 3 beds, which also speeds up bed heating. For other materials you need higher temperatures on your print bed to allow for good adhesion. PETG needs about 70 °C and ABS even 110 °C. Whether you’re after a new extruder, hot end, tubing, nozzles, tensioners, knobs, casings, cooling systems, and so much more, there’s an option out there. Ender 3 V2 vs Ender 5 Pro – The Bottom Line The print temperature is one of the most important settings in Cura. If you choose the wrong temperature here, various printing errors such as stringing, over- or under-extrusion can occur. The Ender 3 V2 sports a maximum extruder temperature of 255°C and a maximum bed temperature of 110°C. The Ender 5 Pro features a maximum nozzle temperature of 260°C and a maximum bed temperature of 110°C.
