Remember to stop halfway through cooking to rotate the food inside the air fryer basket. When you’re close to the end of cook time, open the air fryer basket and make sure nothing is burning or overcooking. 🍴 Air Frying Recipes Are you using an air fryer yet? Always allow food to have air around it so that the machine can have the circulation of air to create the crispy food you desire. If you pile on the food or put food too close together, it tends to steam and not get crispy. This is super important! Both the size and power of your air fryer AND the size of the food can make the cook times vary slightly. One of the things people often ask me about is how they can use their air fryer to reheat food. A lot of people are not wanting to use a microwave anymore, to avoid microwave radiation. If you’re like me, that was how I reheated most foods. I’m now using my air fryer to reheat food. And here's our air fryer facebook group which you're welcome to join and ask any questions - https://www.facebook.com/groups/airfryerfun When looking at the sheet, all times and temperatures assume that the food is flipped over mid way through the cooking time or the basket is shaken to mix up ingredients once or twice. If you’re new to air frying, welcome and hurray! You’re going to LOVE your air fryer. If you’re an old pro, let me know if I missed any of the amazing benefits of air fry cooking! Favorite Air Fryers Don’t use use perforated parchment paper at high heat without having food over it. If you don’t have enough food weighing down the parchment paper, it will fly around when the hot air circulates and cover the food. This will make the food cook unevenly. Make sure to follow your manufacturers suggested use of parchment sheets. And don’t ever pre-heat your air fryer with solo parchments sheets. They will fly around, hit the heating element and burn. Best Air Fryer Parchment Sheets or Liners The problem we often have with the air fryer is not knowing exactly what temperature or for how long to cook each type of food. If you had that information at your fingertips, wouldn’t it be THAT MUCH easier to cook with your air fryer? Sometimes it is a bit of trial and error, but I recommend starting in smaller time increments and working your way up a few minutes at a time until the food is at your desired doneness. When cooking poultry always remember to cook to TEMPERATURE not TIME. According to the UDSA, poultry is safe to eat at 165°F. Whole cuts of pork, beef, veal and lamb is 145°F and ground meats are 160°F. Snag and Print These Air Fryer Printables to Save Time! Converting Recipes from Deep Fryer to Air Fryer

Air fryers come in different wattages. If you have an air fryer that is 1400 watts, it will likely cook slower and not get food quite as crispy as an air fryer with 1800 watts. You may need to cook your food differently to take that into account.

Stop the cooking process around the halfway mark, and either shake the basket well, or use either a spatula or tongs to turn the food. This will help ensure evenly cooked food that’s crispy on all sides.

Hey Carol - welcome to the wonderful world of air frying 🙂 my best tip for beginners is to think of your air fryer as a mini oven as opposed to an oil-less deep fryer. Anything you can make in the oven you can make in the air fryer, and the principles are the same. E.g. if you're making roasted vegetables, you'd coat them in a little oil. Some people use spray oils but I never do. Just throw whatever I'm making in a bowl and coat it in a little olive oil before popping it in the air fryer. Invest in a meat thermometer - takes out the guess work and will help you ensure meat is cooked prior to carving! You should also know my time sheet is based on a non preheated air fryer. If you preheat your air fryer, cook for less time. Basically this a guide and you are free to adjust accordingly. Do we air fry everything? Air fryer cooking times will always be faster than cooking it in the oven. The air flow circulates around the food the entire time like a fan it is in the basket or on the trays for more overall even cooking.
