This kinda reminded me of the film me before you expect she is taking care of his mom instead of him. I saw a lot of people say that this was a super emotional read for them… but I personally didn’t really feel much of a connection to any of it and the whole thing was meh at best for me. a risk on forever follows our main character addy. addy is hopping from job to job trying to support her dad and her brother when finally she lands a job as a caregiver for a woman named helen. addy is such a strong willed, independent woman who has been through so much. she takes on the role of an adult at such a young age to support her family and make ends meet. who would have known that taking care of helen would have turned addy’s life around? here comes matthias, helen’s son. matt is a grump to the max. but he’s so loving and cares so deeply for those he loves. Jesus Christ, I’m throwing hands right now and crying as I write this review. This book was PAIN 😭😭This was such a bitter sweet story. The dual povs, the letters, the grumpy/sunshine, enemies to lovers was everything. Like dear lord take my soul now. There was so much angst and the chemistry between addy and Matthias was truly spectacular. There were so many emotions; happiness, sadness(most of the time) there was funny moments and moments that left you in total awe. Matthias reminded me so much of miles Archer from ugly love with the whole pilot occupation and grumpy ass. there were so many small aspects of this book i appreciated. both protagonists were likeable, but i particularly loved following addy. she has been through so much, and i hugely admire her. getting snippets of her family life was also so rewarding, watching her mend her broken relationship with her father, and take care of her adorable little brother. i also loved the addition of helen’s notes, sprinkled into the narrative at the end of each chapter. so many small life lessons were in-cooperated, making the novel even more meaningful to me. not to mention the inclusion of several taylor swift songs, and other music references. it was such a fun add in.

a risk on forever” is a heartwarming, loveable story. it is definitely a tear-jerker and incredibly emotional, but in a bittersweet, beautiful way. it touches on grief and loss, and moving on, with an overarching theme of the power of love and compassion.I’ll keep the details to myself – read the blurb, don’t read spoilers -- and then read the book for yourself. It’s worth the journey. I loved all the characters in this book. Each held such a powerful role in this book. If you loved Miles from Ugly Love, the main character Matt is also a pilot and gives off the same vibes as Miles. I'll admit he did annoy me a bit just like Miles did in Ugly Love. But I easily fell in love with him. He may be a bit of an assh*le in the beginning but after knowing why I can't help but love him even more. His protectiveness is his love language. There's no amount of words that can express the emotions and feelings I felt in this book. I can't wait for you guys to read this book. Helen. I miss her so much. She was one of the best characters in the book. The letters made me cry and I will also listen to her advice. "Fight, tooth, and nail, for the people you love,".

if you love dual povs, enemies to lovers, grumpy/sunshine, morally grey male mc, emotional books, this is your sign to read this book. Helen was my favorite character yet, i cried during that scene uk. I loved how she brought Matt and addy together and her letters to them broke my heart into pieces. I think the story overall had a very bittersweet feel to it. You knew right from the start where the whole thing was going, but you went along for the ride anyway. — There were moments that I enjoyed and thought were funny and/or sweet - there were also some moments that I felt were kinda corny and cringy - and then there were a solid amount of moments that I found to be super boring. N.S. Perkins, I love you so much. At this point, just take all my money. She deserves the world and nothing less for the way her books make me feel. it certainly wasn’t a perfect book in my opinion. matthias annoyed me a lot during the middle section of the novel, and the slow burn got a little tedious after a while. although i understand the two’s hesitation to be with each other, it didn’t make it any less frustrating, and it dragged for a little too long in my opinion. it was also just very cliche, and while i understand no book can be completely unique, a little more originality could have benefited this novel- i just felt i’d seen it all before. The epilogue and that letter there broke my heart more. I kinda wished we saw where they had a child and they named her Helen. I felt like I would die peacefully if that happened. I LOVE THIS BOOK SO MUCH. There were all the emotions. We got spice and so much angst in it also. I cried, laughed, blushed, and smiled so hard during this book. The struggles addy went through also, I just wanted to hug her at times. She was there for everyone but no one took care of her. What a strong woman. The fact that this is N.S Perkins debut novel and her writing is so magnificent is truly inspiring. Hats off to her 👏 I got a bit of Colleen Hoover and Mariana zapata from her writing.
