At the start of the Jihad the Black Thorns had been just been hired for garrison duty on Galedon V by the Draconis Combine. The Akira thing threw me off a few times, I knew it wasn't what Naomi thought in the beginning of this book but I ended up being right all along (as I'm sure most people were since it's kind of obvious but the author manages to throw in a few monkey wrenches to make you doubt yourself).

And the toxicity that Sebastian and Naomi had in book 2 turned into this all consuming love for each other in the least toxic way.Surprisingly, opposition to the Black Thorns came not from Clan Jade Falcon, but from the planetary government. By the time I got to book two, I was hooked and found that my issues with the first book were almost non-existent (almost! Her heroes are anti-heroes and villains because she was always the weirdo who fell in love with the guys no one roots for.I'm in my Rina Kent era right now, because im reading all of her books, but this duet will probably be in my last favorites. Multiple elements of suspense and intrigue propel you forward as you become a part of a different world. Furthermore, you cannot gain the benefit of a different item of the same form ( Weapon, Armour, Talisman) that day.

They were explosive when they were together, but when they were apart their broken pieces were hurting really badly. Naomi successfully finds a way out of her marriage without destroying any lives and finally is set free. I once AGAIN will say that they do not have a conventional marriage, they never shared any intimacy or feelings. I was so fucking confused and all this literally took away from the relationship development that should have happened. A poor condition book can still make a good reading copy but is generally not collectible unless the item is very scarce.Additionally, I liked the rendition of accents, light Japanese interlaced with American accents, though I can’t attest to their authenticity.
