Newly single lawyer Gwen Baker is hoping that a family Christmas - countryside, a mountain of food and festive films - Main character Gwen is trapped in a job to make her father’s wishes come true. She’s aspiring lawyer with bright future in a powerful corporate London company. Overall, this was a sweetly fun, lighthearted read that offered unexpected moments of wisdom as Gwen desperately seeks a way to bring this Christmas-Day-on-repeat to an end, believing that if she can determine each of their Christmas wishes and fulfill them, it will finally end this seeming nightmare. The Christmas Wish is Lindsey Kelk's best yet. I couldn't have loved this romantic, festive, brilliantly funny novel more' ROSIE WALSH The characters are well-defined despite not being too layered. What we see is enough to understand their essence. Gwen has a few not-so-nice moments, but those make her human. After all, who hasn’t embarrassed themselves at one time or another? A bit of exaggeration is expected in fiction, so I don’t mind.

We have a superstition in Greece in which if you find a fallen eyelash on your friend's face, you hide it between your fingers, then you both make a wish and whoever gets it, they get their wish granted. My wish was for this book to be great and fun to the end. Sparkles with wit and warmth . . . I'll read anything Lindsey writes, but this one might just be my new favourite of her novels' BETH O'LEARY I ask because for the past year I’ve insisted to my two boys that yeet is not a word, no matter how much they love it and how often they say it. I’ve told them it’s nothing more than slang, a nonsense word, and should be said as little as possible.Only it really doesn’t, and Gwen wakes up the next day and, somehow, it is Christmas all over again, although she seems to be the only one who realizes that they had celebrated it the day before. Somewhat reminiscent of Groundhog Day, this continues to happen. She ends the day sitting with Manny by the fire after consuming enough alcohol to feel cozy with a plan for the next day - to forget about work, forget about her ex, and to avoid fights with her sister

will salve the sting of her career hanging by a thread and her heart being trampled on. Because everyone else has their life sorted: even Dev, her boy-next-door crush, is now a tall, dark and handsome stranger with a fiancée. She can’t help wishing her future was clearer.Gwen's life i There are so many funny and sentimental moments embrace you completely! And second chance romance with boy next door Dev is always swoon worthy enough to make you giggle! To summarize, The Christmas Wish is a lighthearted, humorous read with lots of family time and some romance (for icing).

This was a cute Christmas read. A groundhog day Christmas. Gwen Baker is a newly single lawyer whose career is hanging on by a thread. She is heading home to the country to spend Christmas with her family. Then she wakes up and realizes that it's Christmas day AGAIN…and her own Christmas hell plays over and over again , with the family arguments on repeat. But she does have har old boy next door crush, Dev, there as a bright spot. But he now has a fiance. She is trying to figure out how to stop this day from repeating, while also finding out that she still has feelings for Dev…except Dev also doesn't remember what happened the next day. This was my first read by author Lindsey Kelk, it was full-on dramarama at Christmas and I was so here for it. It was also very funny at times but heartwarming in equal measure. What surprised me the most was the fact that it wasn't repetitive as it had a Groundhog Day like plot. I loved how the romance wasn't the main focus of the story, the family was, and Gwen's relationships within it. Don't get me wrong is she definitely hot for the boy next door but that isn't what the book is about and I liked that about it. The pacing is a bummer. Despite the humor and everything, the story dragged in some places. A couple of themes are handled with a weeny bit extra emphasis, but that’s no big deal when the book delivers on the nice Christmasy feeling and a happy ever after.twinkling bright Christmas stars for this genuinely laugh-out-loud wonderous piece of writing that had me reading late into the night to finish it. The writing is easy to read and flows with natural humor. It is silly, quirky, and even eye-roll-inducing. But it is entertaining and lighthearted. Even those several pop culture references didn’t diminish the effect.
