Description

Sure enough, it's a huge book that has little to no chance of ever fitting on a bookshelf and it is full of facts beautifully presented. May also contain light spine creasing or a few markings such as an owner's name, short gifter's inscription or light stamp. If you love BIG books and clear informative maps, then this is the book for you , and for your grandchildren! There is a dearth of information about some of these places (publishers tend to concentrate on what they see as the 'main' countries), particularly for young children.

The tagline on this gorgeous book promises you can 'Travel the globe without leaving your living room' and, for the armchair traveller this surely is the most fun way of doing so.I bought it for one of my grand-families, and so loved the look and feel of it that my husband bought ME one for Christmas! The country pages are very detailed and all include the flag, capital city, the languages spoken, population, and area as well as a host of other illustrations about the country including the wildlife, food, buildings, famous people and many more. With so much to see this book would make a lovely Christmas gift and will certainly keep everyone entertained after Christmas lunch!

The countries are illustrated with animals - both current and prehistoric - which makes retention of facts so much easier.Aleksandra Mizielinska and Daniel Mizielinski graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in 2007. From time to time, we would like to keep you up to date with news about Beyond the Stork and special offers. Bursting with fascinating facts and puzzles from around the world, it offers hours of entertainment to young adventurers.

Informative and inspiring, the myriad activities in this book challenge the reader to discover something new and explore their imagination to draw, decorate and design every pull-out page. That is not a boast; you really get a strong sense of each country and feel like you've really been on a journey if you read it cover to cover.

Opening with an original style of contents page, consisting of a world map with countries labelled with the pages where information can be found, the atlas is divided into eight sections, looking at countries within each continent plus the Arctic and Antarctica. I love books like this that that introduce geography and culture to children without them realising that they are actually learning!
